Even The Numbers Indict Lynn Swann

Look below at the banner year USC is having under Lynn Swann. USC isn’t even competing in the Pac-12, which is weak in football and basketball this year. And neither is UCLA.

Does Swann feel any accountability for any of this? Heck no, it’s President’s day. Time for golf.

  1. Asides from serving on a few corporate boards, what has Lynn Swann been doing over the last decade ? Why didn’t USC name Steve Lopes the athletic director, especially since Pat Haden endorsed him ?

    1. Fred,
Don’t be fooled, Steve Lopes IS the Athletic Director at USC. Lynn Swann
is just a face for fundraising. Our only hope is that they hire a new president that will clean house at Heritage Hall.

      1. MP: if Steve Lopes is, as you say, the AD at SC and Swann is the designated fundraiser, then I guess Swann is not the person to be critical of. Yes or no? Moreover, if that is the organizational chart at SC, then you can’t expect anything more than a continuation of dysfunction. There should be just one AD responsible and accountable to all the athletic programs. Any other arrangement would be problematic in my opinion.

Thanks, Michael! I am getting more “Inside USC” info from the guys on this blog than from Scottie, who just keeps recycling that gift that keeps on giving – “Swann in Levis at Pebble Beach”.

  2. I really dont understand why any recruit would sign with USC currently other than the education costs and quality. Sure isnt for football or basketball acheivements. Cant live with “wait til next year all the time”
