Mass Exodus From Women’s Basketball?

I’m not going to pretend I follow women’s basketball closely but there is a report that six players are in the NCAA transfer portal, including the best player, Minyon Moore, who announced her departure yesterday.

I’m writing about this because this is where an athletic director actually works. Donna Heinel, who oversaw women’s basketball, has been fired. Lynn Swann is in the midst of what appears to be a 10-day trip to Augusta.

Maybe Swann is monitoring developments “closely” from the Masters like he said he was when he went to Virginia for an autograph show.

Moore averaged 14.8 points, 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds last season. The other players reportedly transferring are Marguerite Effa, Asiah Jones, Danijela Milisic and Ja’Tavia Tapley. Jillian Archer has already said she will transfer to Georgetown.

    1. Magic was out of his depth and knew it. So he did the right thing by the Laker’s and resigned.

      If I’m JB, I’d make a call to Jerry West and bury the hatchet ASAP. As long as Jerry West is breathing he should be the Laker’s team, President.

        Now why did you have to blow up your reputation for being a jerk with your comment from above? I hate to say this, but I agree with you about Jerry West. He built the Lakers twice to nba championship teams. Starting off with the greatest basket ball player by flipping a coin for Magic and then getting Shaq. He just knows how to win.

Mark Trakh could not get the job done the first time he was at SC, so instead of going out and REALLY searching for a very good coach, they bring Trakh back the result a losing record in conference, and one and done in the Pac 12 tourney. Think about it 6 women’s teams from the Pac 12 made it to the tourney 5 make it to the sweet 16, Stanford to the elite 8 and Oregon to the final 4. as long as those teams are in the Pac 12 “Retread” Trakh and his group are going nowhere. It is tough to watch him walk up and down the sideline looking like well what do I do next against this kind of competition. Get rid of him!
