DJ Uiagalelei Narrows School Choices

Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei of St. John Bosco announced his final two choices are Clemson and Oregon. He will make his final decision Sunday and Clemson is the frontrunner.

Uiagalelei is the No. 1-ranked player overall in the nation per Rivals. USC decided long ago to focus on Mater Dei QB Bryce Young instead.

  1. SC was never going to get Uiagalelei . He is a pro-style QB, so why would he go to a school with an air raid/spread offense, like Harrell’s?

Young is a good match for Harrell’s offense. It would have made no sense to recruit both of them. Better to have Young than to lose both.

Maybe when Young arrives, he can take the job away from Daniels and Scottie can do cartwheels.

    1. Let Sears take the job away from Daniels, let Young redshirt when he shows up and then when Sears leaves let Young take over.

      1. Things change- the recruiting landscape is becoming increasingly national. Football camps, social media, and the internet have driven this trend. It is expected that SC lose players to out of state programs. You combine this with a losing season and program which may or may not be in flux and these are the results. That being said, Young is no consolation prize and is every bit as capable as DJ at QB.

  2. Wasn’t another SJB player, currently a newly minted 2nd year qb formerly in Maricopa Cty and now down in Dade Cty, the ‘ # 1 ranked player in the USA’ some 6 years ago?
