The new catch-phrase for USC training camp is “two spot.” It’s jargon, of course, that Clay Helton uses to explain how he is running the offense at two ends of the field so the quarterbacks get more reps.
It’s a good idea if the quarterback competition is actually open.
- Looks like former USC wide receiver Trevon Sidney is off to a fast start at Illinois.

- USC athletic director Lynn Swann is continuing to enjoy the Hall of Fame weekend. Here he is with Tony Dungy, Mel Blount, Jerome Bettis, Franco Harris, Rod Woodson, Dermontti Dawson, Joe Greene, and Kevin Greene.

Lane should be ranked a lot higher….. this poll is an insult to everything Lane stands for….

Damn, I miss Kiffy Goat – A laugh a minute, bozo FB legend.
At least Sark had an excuse for his behavior; Kiffy Goat was alway sober but had a sweet spot for projecting the ridiculous

Lane should always be ranked higher…no matter the criteria for judgement.

I’d still take any of those guys over Clay Helton any day of the week.

Marvienna, I don’t dispute your choice. Many do agree with you. It was just curious how coaches view each other and in particular the duck’s coach..

What Swann has done at heritage hall does not negate what he did in the field. When Swann was announced as Athletic Director there was a collective groan. And the immediate reaction was to point to his place in the hall of fame.
Clearly it not the person but the hiring process that is flawed. (Okay the person too, but we knew that when he was hired.) What always leaves me wondering, is where did they advertise the position? If USC recruits itself for sports figures clearly it has to be more so for open positions on staff.
For too long the AD position has been an honorary position. It’s sorta like being the mayor of Westwood you get to wave your hands at the crowd but there is no such job. Unfortunately the underpinnings of the department have eroded to the point where the honorary director thinks he needs to act. Fire Swann and the department won’t change. Make a real search and being an experienced director and let whoever you hire clean out the morass this the only change that can have a long range effect.

If Errand Boy is running the offense then what is Graham Harrell doing…dishing out the soft serve?
