Marcus Allen At Another Event With LSU Flavor

Marcus Allen was one of the former Heisman Trophy winners at tonight’s ceremony in New York. I wonder if Allen would be there if he didn’t know LSU QB Joe Burrow was going to win. And that his buddy Ed Orgeron would be in the audience too.

Mike Garrett was also there and probably made a comment to Orgeron at the expense of Pat Haden.

The last time I remember Allen at a USC event was a spring practice in 2016.

For the Urban Meyer fans, three of the top six players in the Heisman vote were from Ohio State (he recruited two of them). And Burrow is an Ohio State graduate.

  1. Well really Allen is a member of the club so his being there isn’t surprising. Neither was having Garrett there special. And if you were there wouldn’t you stick a pin in the Pat Haden doll with big Ed?

  2. Joe Burrow was developed by ‘O’ and his staff…not Ohio St….just like Jack Sears situation will be for him at SanDiego St….sc ignored Sears development, like they have Matt, who was the q/b that beat Utah, sc toughest opponent, except Oregon which stomped sc with slovis at q/b. Looking fwrd to Iowa , 7th best team in B10.

    1. You really think Helton had a big win against Utah. Who had a silly game plan?
With SC’s apparent lack of urgency for this meaningless Bowl game..
Iowa should pound SC all day.
As a Former SC LB I’ve seen nothing
But crap from The. Defensive Coordinator for the past three years.
Hopefully, SC will lose, Folt and Bohn will look
More stupid, and Helton will be finally fired!!

      1. hellton had a big win is not found anywhere in my comment…like sears Matt was moved to the loser/disregard file by hellton…Matt came in and led sc to the win…Utah also lots its #1 threat at running back…Utah defense expected to go against a no run/stand still q/b they could sack and hurry…not Matt. I do agree with your other remarks, and do think the line play dominance will lead to an Iowa victory, unless a running q/b comes in…

      1. Trojanwb,

Welcome. I agree about Iowa and bama. Pendergast is not that good of a dc. No containment, no pushing the opposing Kline back, lbers getting pushed back, when Folt and Bohn don’t listen to former players then the fans need to show their response by not going to the games

      1. I had forgotten that 34 point comeback by the Utes…

Clay was quoted as saying after that game:

“All the credit goes to Utah,” said USC coach Clay Helton.

Nope, a lot of the credit should have gone to Clancy, whose D gave over 500 yards of offense.

      2. Wasn’t he at the 2017 Rose Bowl yelling to the D after USC tied it with just over a minute to go (on the video)? How did you miss that one Scott?

That’s an easy question to answer. Has Marcus ever attended the ceremony in the past, when there was no connection to Coach O?
