USC school president Carol Folt put a full-court press on five-star linebacker Justin Flowe today during his official visit.
That just makes you wonder more where Mike Bohn was to put on a similar recruiting effort. Maybe Folt can be credited for landing Flowe. Oregon is considered the leader for the linebacker.
Would Flowe commit to USC when Clancy Pendergast (defensive coordinator) and Johnny Nansen (linebackers) have been the subject of speculation they might not return?
Maybe USC told Flowe those coaches are returning. All I know is a current high school football coach said he visited a USC linebacker over the summer that he coached and went over some schemes with him of different college offenses.
“I’ve never seen any of that stuff before,” the linebacker said.
That’s not reassuring to hear.
- Some people have told me they thought former USC QB Jack Sears would go to a bigger school than San Diego State. Here’s what I always say about QB transfers. It doesn’t matter where you go, it matters if you play.
Sears would be fortunate to follow the footsteps of Dennis Shaw.
Shaw never earned a letter at USC and transferred to San Diego State, where he passed for 3,100 yards, 39 touchdowns and 26 interceptions in 1969. Shaw was a second-round draft choice and spent eight years in the NFL.
Sears is a So Cal beach kid. He was never going to a Utah or Oregon St.

Nevertheless, Sears throws a tissy fit and JT and Slovis go down early on. Fink and a walk on QB are all that remain. My thought back then was let the walk on play if Fink gets hurt.

I wish him well, but he doesn’t play for us any longer and quit on the team. I’m not rooting against him, but not going out of my way to root for him either. Totally indifferent. Also, let’s not pretend San Diego St is a QB pipeline to the NFL just because it fits your narrative that he would have been better than all the rest of the QB’s here.

To say you wish him well, then call him a quitter, means you’re disingenuous, just like the coach who disrespected him, despite calling him a lifetime family member of his. It’s like Nancy Pelosi saying she prays for Donald Trump, then publicly calls him coward and imposter…Jack’s got his USC degree, under duress, in fine fashion…which makes him a Trojan, no matter your bologna commentary…he’s tough…take your no name indifference, and stick it!

Clay Helton quit on Jack Sears. I went to the scrimmage and watched for 4 1/2 hours. Jack threw no ints that day, something the other 3 did. So, knew their criteria for fairness was false, despite Coach Helton saying it was still an open competition. I walked away feeling Jack was 1 or 2, knowing the history. The following announcement placing him 4th on the depth chart was a lie, and a clear indication Jack was not well thought of…..Players don’t, and shouldn’t, relish the idea of using 1 of their 2 remaining college years of eligibility, mired in a coach’s doghouse at #4, for whatever reason. Did Joe Burrow quit in Ohio State? How about Justin Fields? Did he quit on Georgia? Or, Jalen Hurts? Did he quit on Alabama? Pay attention to the obvious….stop 🛑 the charades…

He did quit. Plain and simple. And he did it right before the start of the season. Spin as you will. Facts are facts. We can recognize one and still bid him a fond farewell.
Or just say see ya.

Yes, on all that you mentioned. Joe Burrows, Jalen, Fields all quit. See that’s how quitting works. You stop participating in what you were doing before. We all know why they left, they weren’t going to play. As a football player, that’s no fun, we get it. No hard feelings, it didn’t work out But, there was a big difference between those three and Jack though, they transferred after finishing the season and before the next one started, not after the losing a position battle in the fall. Also, they are really, really good. We have no idea how good Jack is.

The way you use the term “quitter”, implies dishonor, of which you know little lol…You’re simply attempting a smear campaign, just like Helton. Cellophane…he stayed to give his utmost, while giving every opportunity for the coach, to come around. Jack had no idea, nor did any, of the impending injuries lol. That’s another piece of your smear campaign….even after the injuries, you can’t connect the dots, and say Jack would’ve played. That’s a guess, at best, but surely part of your false and misleading testimony…

Yeah, because you post, it must be so. But ALL those other QBs transferee after the team finished their current season and moved on prior to spring. And yeah, I was wondering if meyers-saban-smart all ran off their guys too. You play little games and take your little 4 hrs of scrimmage and make up your own mind. Good for you, discount the rest of spring and fall practices. You take the word of a blogger banned from the team and it’s events (unless he BUYS his ticket). What happened to the righteous indignation we were led to believe existed by his teammates? The evidence is clear and HIS teammates have spoken. “Adios and don’t let the door hit you in the ass”. There is no partial credit. You may find it here: Revelation 20: 11-15….Verse 11.. “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them…
Verse 12….And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
Verse 13….The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
Verse 14…Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Verse 15….And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire….
Yes, you both are losers and cowards…It is written….but, there’s still time. However, you’re both so far gone, there’s little chance of you changing…

And as far as your assertion that he somehow saved eligibility by leaving the team is as false and transparent as your others. He lost last season’s eligibility and leaving didn’t do him any favors. I’m still wondering why all the other programs in the country hadn’t lined up to receive him or at least offer an official visit?? Although the possibility still exists, it’s highly unlikely…but he’s still hoping. Probably why he didn’t sign an LOI.
