USC Morning Buzz: Has The Mini-Season Raised Anyone’s Stock?

Has your enthusiasm for the season been drained at all by last week’s cancellation and constant shuffling of the time/day of the Washington State game?

Imagine how Arizona State fans feel? The Sun Devils haven’t played since the USC game.

Plus has this season really raised anyone’s stock?

  • The glow is definitely off quarteback Kedon Slovis, depsite all the denials that there is anything off with him.
  • Only some of the diehards are trying to resurrect Todd Orlando’s image based off shutting down inept Utah.
  • Graham Harrell still can’t attack a soft, zone defense.
  • Defensive end/linebacker Drake Jackson hasn’t even turned in a full game.
  • The three games also haven’t allowed Mike Bohn to claim the offseason changes turned anything around, although he will take an undefeated record that has been returned to sender by the College Football Playoff committee.

All in all, it’s not been a real step forward.

      1. Honestly what does it say about your offense when the team leader in scoring is the place kicker?
I am old enough, but have never seen a drop kick. I am told it’s a cross between a punt and a fumble. As I have heard the object is to drop the ball straight down then kick it through the up rights for two points. I sorta expected to see one from rugby guy, but I haven’t seen a decent punt yet. Rugby guy is literally the Gus mule from the old Disney movie. He’s a gimmick in a bad ploy to save Baxter. Baxter is gone and rugby is still shanking kicks. I heard an explanation for this. I was told the rugby ball is softer and fatter than an American football 🏈 🏉 ? And that description fits the reason for bad kicks and our offensive line.

      2. Google says…
“ Kickers are the highest scoring players in the NFL because they get the most real scoring chances. Every time his team scores a touchdown, he gets the chance to score a point. Every time his team gets to the 35, he gets the chance to score three points. If his offense is good, the kicker can rack up a ton of points.”

      3. In 1971 the ruins were so bad under new head coach Pepper Rodgers that the crowd would chant “Put in Efren” on first down whenever the ruins were inside the 35 yard line as their offense invariably went backwards and (future Dallas Cowboys kicker Efren Herrera) was guaranteed to make 3 poiunts. That was the years SC and the ruins tied 7-7 in a snoozefest of no offense.

  1. WR Drake London has shown that he can be more than the #2 or #3 receiver on the team.

If there is a choice for MVP of the offense right now, I’d pick him over Slovis, Carr, St. Brown or any of the other WR’s.

    1. Obviously Drake is a better athlete than Slovis….. but the big thing is: right now, his head is more in the game……

    1. You are as stupid as you look sight unseen. Beating a Stanford,
ucla, ASU , Oregon or Arizona will be gauge if this team is for
real. Did you forget about Cal Baptist at home? Enfield is a bum
with recruiting. Transfers saving his rear end totally.

Well this IS interesting. I am not sure if this site is for me anymore. Each email address used generates a unique symbol that represents the email address. One person on this page has 10 such symbols generated for his username. That is some next level trolling. And none of messages upon this thread has anything to do with the the purpose of the thread. It has developed into a prepubescent name calling.
