USC Morning Buzz: Winners And Losers Of The Week

WINNERS

Real football programs

While USC fans wonder why the football programs putters along behind spin and hype, two real teams (Alabama, Ohio State) will actually play for the national title.

Steve Sarkisian

He gets more than $34 million from Texas to become a head coach for the first time since he was fired by USC. He and Lane Kiffin must text high-fives to each other every night at how easy this coaching thing is.

USC men’s basketball

First sweep in Arizona since 1985. Does Arizona care since it is out of the postseason? Was ASU missing four players? The sweep will still count in the record book though.

Winter break

The fact USC players have been off campus means the team isn’t grumbling to each other about the state of the program, which was happening a couple weeks ago.

LOSERS

Clay Helton

So Graham Harrell will hire the offensive line coach. Coach Bohn will probably supervise hiring the strength coach and hired Todd Orlando. What does Helton do?

Common sense

Dies anyone believe Helton when he said, “I actually see this program trending upward, if you look at it correctly.”

Pete Carroll

He’s hearing nothing but criticism after losing to Jared Goff. “As I told the guys, there’s no place in my brain for this outcome. We were planning on moving on,” Carroll said.

Clay Helton accountability

It must be nice to say, “We’re headed in the right direction, as far as where we want to be and who we’re bringing in to make sure that championships happen on a consistent basis” and it makes no difference that no one really believes you or expects it to happen.

  1. Does it matter SC basketball has been w/o starting point guard and defensive specialist too??? for several weeks now …out with a back problem. It is similar to q/b out for football, or setter out for volleyball…I hope Kiffin and Sark are happy about their opportunities , bet you are jealous you did not land on your feet like they did…perseverance and accomplishment result in rewards.

    1. Biggest Loser…Donald J. Trum!

Trump is about to become the only president to be Impeached a second time for inciting riots and his attempt to overthrow the government.

    2. Kiffin & Sark are thrilled with their opportunities.
Kiffin’s a philandering narcissist who was tarmacked and Sark is a recovered ( hopefully ) pill popping drunk philander who was so F’ed up before a practice he had to be canned.

If you take out Kiffin’s 3 years at Florida Atl, he’s 40-26 as a head coach at real schools and 5-15 with the Raiders
Sark is 46-35 as a head coach

That’s 86-61 for you folks with math issues

      $50 million combined for 86-61

      What a country !!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. The team is better off w/o Anderson, period. He wastes a
lot of shots and is a turnover king. He and his mom are a
basket case. Taj Eaddy is much better of an all around player!

  2. What could turn around the SC football program beyond the hype at the end of each season that they strive for the championship playoffs (when the high schoolish Air Raid is sure failure for that)?

How about going independent like Notre Dame and BYU, both teams of which they play next year? Other independent teams could be New Mexico State, Hawaii, UNLV, Utah State, Idaho; all in the Western Region. Stanford could be added as a private school. Where going independent for football only might be sold to the SC administration would be to add some overseas games with, say, the London Blitz or the Manchester Crows, or the Berlin Rebels, the Tokyo Gas Creators, or the Canadian Football League teams. Globalist football might be attractive to Folt, who would probably desire the demise of football altogether.

  4. Loser: Ohio State and Alabama whose football teams, loaded with California kids, are being forced to play in a game our football staff and administrators have never heard of.
Winner: Clay Helton, who has gone over ten years without having to play one minute past New Year’s Day. In fact he has been counting his millions since early December this year. (Nice guy has nice job but no clue) sounds like a Romcom.
Neither winner nor loser: Trojan football players who get a first class education, while losing draft points in passing league schemes.

The liberal media will steal this gem, substitute economy or country for program and say it over and over until the idiot masses believe it

    1. karma —Firstly, nice hidden camera shot of Joe all made up for “Jill session.” Secondly (and lastly), Clay’s “if you look at it correctly” remark is easily decoded: “The thing that matters is winning the ‘right way’ —meaning losing to teams with inferior talent but superior discipline and conditioning…… cuz it’s never really ‘losing’ if the other team is more serious and wants it more …..in fact, it would be unjust to desire otherwise.”

      1. Or as Orwell said…….

To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself—that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word—doublethink—involved the use of doublethink.

      2. Good News: Some people see right through this crap.
Bad News: But others —bless their hearts — think that the same people who’ve brought them demonstrated lie after demonstrated lie —- have changed their tune & decided to tell them the TRUTH this time.

    2. Loser: JuJu Smith-Schuster – “The Browns is the Browns’.” Steelers’ are ousted from playoffs by the Browns’ 48 – 37.

Once again, JuJu runs his big mouth and winds up a loser.

It’s true buddhakarma, I was in the basement having the Johnson massaged by Yo’ Mama’s toothless mouth. It wasn’t worth the $5.00 fee.

Stick to SUCC FB, AH, and skip the personal attacks.

  8. Kiffin had to deal with Sanctions and Pat Haden. Sark had to deal with Personal Demons and Pat Haden. Both have persevered. Helton won a Rose Bowl with Sark’s Recruits 4 years ago then somehow claims the Program is trending upward after Bowl Blowout Losses to Ohio State and Iowa (with a non-Bowl Eligible Year in between). Really Clay?
