USC Notes: Championship Odds Are Generous

USC is 33/1 to win the national title next year according to BetOnline.

That’s generous given how many players have left USC and the fact the Trojans have the ninth-best odds.

Full odds are at the bottom:

  • The Alabama-Ohio State game drew 18.7 million viewers. The previous low for a BCS or CFP title game was 21.4 million for the USC-Oklahoma game in 2004.
  • Former USC swimmer Klete Keller, an Olympic gold medalist, NCAA and Pac-10 champion, was part of the mob that sieged the Capitol, former teammates and coaches who identified him said. He could face federal charges.
  • USC left tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker won the Morris Trophy, which goes to the Pac-12’s best offensive lineman.

    1. Yes, we’ve lost lots of players. Yes, we’ll probably lose more. (But) the (superficially) nice looking odds are based solely on Vegas’ confidence in Clay Helton.
