Do you think some people at USC, like Carol Folt, are feeling a little vindicated today regarding Urban Meyer?
Meyer hired controversial former Iowa strength coach Chris Doyle, who resigned Friday night and was criticized below by former USC wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson.
The kicker is Meyer said his relationship with Doyle went back to their days at Utah. Doyle was at Utah in 1998. Meyer arrived in 2003.
All this is what would cause a big, “I told you so” from risk-averse bureaucrats at USC.
- Folt (and Rick Caruso) should be taking more heat today, however, for casting off the historic Mudd presidential estate in San Marino. USC will never have another chance to own a property like that but Folt needed to live in Santa Monica so forget it.

- USC women’s volleyball is 1-4 after losing to Utah on Friday and off to its worst start since 1986. Things could change but it’s a rocky opening for Coach Bohn’s coaching hire.
So now we’re taking politically correct lessons from Keyshuck, the Chris Tucker wanna be.
Didn’t Gruden kick Keyshuck off the Bucs team during the regular season for being an AH?

What’s the line on the uw game today? Oops, forget the sow is the line buster… I could’ve sworn the sow was chosen to win the Pac12, but now sport a healthy 1/3 in their last four. And you thought the ruins were road warriors.

UCLA Pisley, doesn’t make excuses or taunt; doesn’t fake positive CV-19 test to avoid scheduled games; and, UCLA doesn’t hire the mother and/or the father of coveted recruits as ATM’s/asst. coaches – unlike SUCC BB.
Like Andyain’twinning didn’t know ex-bozo asst. HC Tony Bland was doling out the Benjamin’s to help the morbid bozo BB program’s recruiting efforts.
You have fun now Pisley, but based on past, predictable, bozo BB failures, I’ll have the last, loud BB laugh.
Remind me Pisley, how’s them bozo chick BB/volleyball teams doing?

Gruden is one of the most praised coaches for not doing shit in the NFL.
And I’m a Raiders fan, I admit I’m not a big NFL guy. But Gruden was able to make the Raiders a better team but I mean to what standards we never beat teams when it mattered and won a super bowl with a team. Tony Dungy built in Tampa Bay. Everyone knows that. Keyshawn gets on my nerves but I can’t stand Gruden. He gets credit for I don’t know what.

Fixing my comment to make sense.
GRUDEN won a super bowl…. but that wasn’t his team. He had no kind of creative input into that roster because they were all drafted by Tony Dungy. I can’t stand Gruden talk as is if he’s got real Super Bowl Or AFC Championship games experience under him like he’s a Bill Parcells or someone. The Buffalo Bill’s coach did way more than Chucky without a super bowl.

A sober, fair-minded reply to Scott (given what we now know)—
Had Bohn convinced Folt to let him hire Meyer last year it would have ended in a bloodbath this year —first Folt would hired professionals to take care of Meyer & Bohn….then she would have driven her Rolls into Heritage Hall at 113 miles an hour….

Do you really feel as tho scottie would’ve let the hiring slide?? Of course not. They’d have been hoisted up on their own petards. And it would have left our ears ringing forever.

And that is the best call because Meyer was gonna have a problem when his players got any kind of racist personality or hint of it. It would have been very bad. That really was a stupid hire from Urban.

1. They were right about Urban and we were wrong. That was the STUPIDEST move and shows he has learned nothing from the Zach incident. Just because he goes back 20 years with a guy doesn’t mean shit.
2. The Mudd mansion is a beautiful, old relic. Many universities and museums and cities have been grant deeded a property by a family for tax purposes. The upkeep on a home like that is very very high, and they are money pits unless totally redone, and then it still has high maintenance costs. No reason a non-profit university should have to waste money on the asset, when it would be more fiscally responsible and smarter to sell it to a family that wants a home like that. That $24M could go to lots of programs, even the athletic program.
3. Carol Folt wanting to move in a different direction with her home, if the prices are market correct, looks like a smart financial move, and universities steeped in tradition must evolve, too.

Not to put too fine an edge on things …but…Urban’s got an awful lot of friends and former friends (one becoming “former” by way of suicide) who are somewhat tainted by the words “convicted felon” in front of their names….

Carol Folt and Rich Caruso have cost the university hundreds of millions in lost donations as they try to create a place that resembles their own personal political convictions.
I am just tired of this same old story. The most robust institutions are the ones where debate on issues allows all voices to be heard. That is not USC anymore, nor is it even the US anymore.

This is what America has become, a snowflake factory. Urban Myers is a results driven coach not thought policing nut. If he hired someone it was because he expected results. The allegations of racism and cruel training tactics were just retaliation from snowflake kids. These tactics would have been lauded in the 60s but now, with the time out in the corner crowd, they are pure evil.
It is sad that the thought police rule the world the way they do. So sad I will have to use a sock puppet to post, or face being “Swatted” by some guy who thinks his tech college owns L. A.

Yup, 41 members of a single team arrested for felonies is pretty results oriented alright… you have the iq of a sock.

Well look who’s talking. Do you really believe Urban went to practice saying, “okay guys let’s rob a bank?”
Football, he taught football. Does everything we do in life trace back to our teachers?
Honestly linking all of his players off field actions to him is like linking a bad apple to the whole orchard.
Racist is the new buzz word used against anyone over fifty. You gotta be a racist if you grew up in the seventies. (I don’t know the coach’s age) But it’s an easy dodge to call someone a racist.
I’m just saying ruining someone has become a new sport in America just ask Bill Cosby. Do you believe all those women with the same exact story were victims? There’s a reason it’s called the me too movement.

No…but 41/85? Maybe. Or maybe he doesn’t deserve credit for the project veritas video describing his program, we all know that successful coaches all have these videos made…oh not all do? Or maybe guys like Durkin or this dufus from Iowa or Zach smith are all just coincidental..yeah that’s it. Or should we just list the individual lies that he has told the press regarding these coincidences….this guy is just a misunderstood saint, like when he called Courtney Smith that woman for complaining her husband was beating her.
Yuk yuk yuk…as Curly would say.

Urban runs the kind of un-woke program that coaches could afford in years gone by. That’s who he is. That’s who he’ll always be. Pete is actually cut from pretty much the same cloth —can’t even put a number on the collection of players he’s had who’ve violated NFL drug policies with their use of various “enhancers.” [Pete always pretends to be surprised by this, btw]. I think both these guys figure “let people complain —I’d rather be criticized for violating the rules than lose.”

I don’t mean to sound like a fence straddling, split the difference POS —but —- a lot of what has happened over the course of Urban’s career (not all but a lot) can’t be fairly ascribed to his lack of humanity. I do think he’s clueless on the subject of domestic violence —in fact, I don’t think it bothers him much if the guy doing it is a pal and/or an important part of his program.
But I’d like to know more about the “racism charges” leveled at one or two of his assistants. “Racism” —real racism—is abhorrent. I’d hate for the word to merely become the go-to way of saying “I don’t like the way you did something.”

Didn’t take it that way. There will be people on both sides of this issue forever and that is how it probably should be. It’s funny tho that so many who would discount or forgive urban his transgressions, such as they are, hold Reggie forever in contempt for something that happened when he was much younger…

Hi gt! I agree with much of what you’ve written. But, let’s face it, Urban would have been a never ending “woke” public relations nightmare for Folt and Caruso…. and dealing with “woke nightmares” is not exactly their long suit….

Unless USC is in urgent need of $24 million+ they could have simply held on to the property.
Maybe the next USC President (sooner rather than later) would have wanted to live there. Maybe Folt is an outlier when it comes to that home. If USC wanted to save money, then they should not have shelled out $8 million for the Santa Monica home.

Anyway I don’t know either Urban or his friend the racist, so I cannot condemn either of them.
