USC Notes: Everyone Needs To Recruit Locally, But Not Obnoxiously

I’m not sure why it is “news” to some Steve Sarkisian is recruiting hard in Southern California.

It’s the area he knows best in the nation, so whether he is at Washington, USC, Alabama or Texas, he is going to recruit locally. Any “national” school needs to recruit in Southern California. Just like USC recruits in Texas and Florida.

The difference is Alabama does it without being obnoxious on social media like USC.

  • USC has not given a COVID-19 testing update for awhile. But it did today:

It conducted 5,699 coronavirus tests from Dec. 28-Feb. 14 and had 47 confirmed positive cases. Four of those cases have come within the past two weeks.

  • Former USC beach volleyball coach Anna Collier, who won three NCAA titles, has been named girls’ beach volleyball coach at Rolling Hills Prep.

  1. What has happened to 22? Mr. Ratpublican seems to have disappeared. What follows should tickle 22 political heart. I’m surprised it took Trump so long to realize what snowflake Democrats always knew. Happy 2021, 22!

(CNN)Former President Donald Trump went after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday, calling him “a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack” in a broadside attack just days after the Kentucky Republican voted to acquit Trump in his second impeachment trial.

After that vote, McConnell ripped Trump in a speech from the Senate floor, and the two have been estranged in recent months after working closely together during the former President’s four years in office.

“Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,” Trump said in the statement. “He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country. Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First. We want brilliant, strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership.”

Trump asserted that the Kentucky Republican’s shortcomings had contributed to the party’s loss of the Senate majority, saying that “McConnell’s dedication to business as usual, status quo policies, together with his lack of political insight, wisdom, skill, and personality, has rapidly driven him from Majority Leader to Minority Leader, and it will only get worse.”

Trump alluded to his baseless claims of election fraud, alleging that in swing states such as Georgia, “McConnell did nothing, and will never do what needs to be done in order to secure a fair and just electoral system into the future. He doesn’t have what it takes, never did, and never will.”

“He is destroying the Republican side of the Senate, and in so doing, seriously hurting our Country,” Trump continued, concluding, “This is a big moment for our country, and we cannot let it pass by using third rate ‘leaders’ to dictate our future!”

One thing is obvious, Trump has employed a writer(s) who can write a coherent sentence and paragraph, w/o childish errors.

  2. Sark is out-recruiting SC in the 2022 class already. He is going to do very well at Texas.

I feel sorry for people like Donte, who is recruiting his heart out but has to deal with the damage from Helton’s rep.

    1. Even Donte can’t completely overcome Helton’s reputation. It’s amazing to me that Bohn is too dumb to realize that —no matter how many talented assistants be brings on board — they’ll eventually get sunk by the “Helton effect”….
