Sunday Buzz: USC-UCLA Kickoff Set

The USC-UCLA kickoff will be at 1 p.m. PT Saturday and televised on Fox.

What’s the over/under on attendance? And do we go by real or announced attendance?

UCLA had 36,573 at the Rose Bowl on Saturday vs. Colorado.

    1. He’s losing in all different kinds of ways….getting way out front and falling apart —getting behind, coming back and falling short…. lots of offense, no offense….

    2. I’m not hatin’ on Sark nor Kiffin anymore.
      Wish both of them well.
Glad we don’t have to talk about Helton any longer, too.
He’s 3000 miles away in GA and can’t mess things up any more.

Things looking up for the Trojans.
Bohn has a chance for the home run hire.
      Will he do it?

    3. Suckisian is getting crucified by Horn fans …. like we knew would happen. There is no bouncing back from the disaster he created. Who is the idiot that guaranteed him a 6 year contract. Someone needs to investigate how Jim Sexton keeps getting Suck these high paying jobs. Got to be kick backs going on.

      1. Aranda went 2-7 in his first season at Baylor, it takes some time to turn around a sinking ship. Sark might actually get things on track.

But with Aranda, we know that he is a guy who is intelligent, competitive and will not rest until he is a winner. He is just really smart and really involved in the details that make a winning team. Plus, he really understands coaching talent and will put together the best coaching staff.

But even Aranda might struggle his first year.

I much prefer a defensive guru because DCs have to understand every offense they face. They cant be specialists in one style of play like offensive coordinators. For example, Graham Harrell could NEVER be successful as a DC. You simply cant say “we dont do that here” and expect to have a good defense.

Either Fickell or Aranda will be good, but if we dont take Aranda and he ends up at UCLA, we will regret it. Aranda is just a better strategic mind than Fickell.

      2. Aranda will have more talent than he started with at Baylor….
[…but, yeah, getting our defense up to snuff will not be easy]….

      3. P. S.
I’m watching Seattle vs Green Bay and, after watching USC all season, it looks so weird to see players flying around on defense at full speed…

      2. Teaboy,

Guess what, she is partially right. The left commie atheists that run this state and city who worship the environmental god are doing a horrible job. However, there are good Christians and churches in L.A. The Christians have to retake the state and the city. If they do that, then the true God, God of Abhram, Issac, and Jacob will bless this place.

  1. I’ve watched every USC-UCLA game since 1967, either TV or in person. I am thinking of missing this one. Can’t really justify 3 plus hours on a Saturday afternoon to watch this team, representing a university that seems completely foreign to what it has been back in the day.

      1. You missed the 2000 game and the next year was the start of Pete’s glorious 2000’s run.

How about missing this game again and hoping for a repeat as we enter the 2020’s?

    1. I see no way that Orlando holds UCLA under 250 yards rushing.
His scheme is wrong for the Pac 12, and he doesn’t have the bulk on DL to control the LOS.

I had hoped that the WR’s would step up with London out, and they failed vs ASU (other than Tahj).

      1. Our receivers SHOULD have had a couple of weeks to work on their (missing) chemistry with Dart —- but I understand Donte has decided to “let them relax and heal up” for the Big Game instead…..

      1. Can’t read the CS, cbssports.com/NBA locked feature. However one good Mobley rookie game doth not a season make. CBB is a 100 yard freestyle event; the NBA season is a 7 mile ocean endurance swim event. Mobley is a youngster among powerful man.

BTW MG, Andyain’twinning escaped Pennsylvania with a 5 point win after leading Temple, at one point, 52- 29. Typical SUCC defense!

  2. Wouldn’t it be fun if the Coliseum for one day – a day game, too! – was packed to capacity with the blue half of the stadium going back and forth against the cardinal half?

Forget the score, wouldn’t that be something awesome to just look at after nearly two years of empty stadiums, evil Pac-12 After Dark games and bad football.

    1. I have this feeling Bohn will be forced [by someone named “Carol”] into rubber stamping James Franklin…and then be forced [by something called “public opinion”] to leave the country, spending the rest of his life in some war ravaged region of eastern Europe or the middle east…

    1. Thanks MG for pointing out the obvious. I wonder how much was on the over by gamblers. Today! Especially with hype job of a game it was supposed to be between Rodgers and with Wilson’s return.

  4. I have been predicting a USC loss since before the first game. This is more than the usual “a broken clock is right twice a day,” scenario . This goes back to Bru McCoy getting booted from the school by the title IX crowd and the lack of spring football highlights. USC died on a play during the league championship game last year. The last play was enough to whimp out of a bowl game loss, proving that USC had no game.
So Saturday I expect nothing less than defeat at the hands of the Bruin hoard. I expect no holds barred and no quarter given.
I have tickets to Hamilton Saturday and may not bother to watch a recording later. The last time I missed a Ucla game I was flying to Hawaii for thanksgiving. We didn’t win that weekend either.
