Pete Carroll said last week the Seahawks had a standard response for teams interested in quarterback Russell Wilson.
“We’re not shopping the quarterback,” Carroll said.
That lasted less than a week as Seattle traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
Carroll’s statement looks foolish now, especially because the Broncos reportedly were in talks for a considerable time with the Seahawks.
Hail Caesar!
Pete probably has a great plan to replace Wilson—- Will it be Matt Barkley, or Sam Darnold??? Maybe Mark Sanchez comes out of retirement. Either way I think next season is Pete’s last in Seattle.

Agreed, I do not believe that Seattle will be competitive next season. No QB in a division that had 3 playoff teams last year. Yikes. He did receive a boatload of draft picks from Denver (a 1st, 2nd, and 5th round in April’s draft + a 1st and 2nd round picks in 2023).

Reported to be Matt Corrall…….(Helton rejection)

Wasn’t Matt just a freshman last year? Or was he a sophomore? Anyway —if he’s headed to Seattle he’ll be going from one of the 2 or 3 best O-lines in the SEC to one of the worst lines in the NFL.

…which brings us back to that Spring camp where JT Daniels comes in early to USC and Helton and Corral quickly bolts from USC. Funny how neither left much of a mark at USC. Call it the “Kedon effect.”
…and a sincere Vaya Con Dios to Kedon.
I hope he has a banner year after bulking up and does well in the NFL.
USC (Helton) used him up and tossed him in the trash bin.
Shameful.

Pete Carroll is not obligated to show his hand to the media, that’s between the Seattle Seahawks and whatever team they’re dealing with. Lying to the media is part of negotiating privately, it’s the only way to go.

That is right, and Carroll learned the art of lying from none other than the Reggie Bush fiasco.
Actually, a coach does not have to lie. Simply saying, “I cannot comment on the Russell Wilson matter,” would suffice.
Carroll probably has $100 million in savings, so it is possible that will outlast him. I always thought he would have to be dragged out of football because he loves it so much. But one more year is probably all he gets.
So Seattle gets a bushel of draft picks. I do not believe that is the same thing as receiving a known commodity such as Wilson. How many of these draft picks after the first 20 ever work out? In fact, how many of the first 20 work out?– There are not any sure-bets in the 2022 draft coming up except for a few linemen.

The zest in the Carroll/Wilson love affair disappeared last year —you could see in lots of little ways Russell wasn’t playing with enthusiasm. Part of that was his absolute disgust with Seattle’s O-Line. Pete is gonna do his best to fix that for his new QB. Will the plan work? Stay tuned.

PC should retire. He was a great coach but the stress and strain of being a HC in the colleges or the pros can wear you down especially when you get to be his age. I’d retire and find a job somewhere as an AD or maybe in the pros.

I’m surprised he didn’t retire after last season. Got to get paid for one more year before retiring.

Trump was a diversion for 4 years. Generally speaking, americans have been in the good hands of righteous and just people who never lie like Bill and Hillary and Obama and Biden and Kamala. When they move their lips, it’s like listening to the words of God, straight from heaven.

LOL! Thanks for the laugh, Parcel. Fools such as Mike tend to forget that.
Yeah, he was a narcissistic blowhard. But the country (and the world) was much better off than with this joke of an administration. Anyone who can’t admit that should be committed.

OK, his initial comment seemed to indicate he thought he was only Trump. But I saw after my post that he admitted below it was virtually everyone in DC. I retract my statement about Mike appearing to have forgotten about those who Parcel mentioned.

You talk about his personal qualities. I don’t know what you mean by that. Most people when they say that, mean that he is a racist or he is a jerk. Let’s take the second one first……he’s a jerk. The fact is he gets things accomplished. I don’t agree that he is a jerk but even if I believed that, I wouldn’t care. I want someone who is competent, not just a nice guy. If I’m going for a heart operation and they tell me that you have 2 choices for your surgeon. Surgeon #1 is just straight out of med school….he’s never actually done one of these operations before, but he’s the nicest guy you’ll guy you’ll ever meet. Surgoen #2 is one of the best and most accomplished heart surgeons in the country but he’s a real jerk. I don’t know about you but I’m going with the jerk. And besides, he’s not any more of a jerk than Biden. Biden abuses reporters who asks him tough question. I’ve never heard Trump call a reporter a “dumb SOB” like he did Peter Doocy and Trump constantly got questions that were intended to make him look bad, not softball questions like the liberal media feeds Biden.
As for him being a racist. I have never heard him make a racist commit. Trump and Joe Scarborough were once the best of friends until they had some kind of a disagreement and then they became bitter enemies. They were the kind of friends that hang out together when there are no camera’s around(going out to dinner and baseball games and that kind of stuff). Scarborough is always bagging on Trump on MSNBC. One time Joe was asked if he had ever heard Trump make a racist comment behind the scenes back in the days when they were friends. He kind of rubbed his forehead for a couple of seconds and said “not that I can ever remember”.

Of course he is and he’s admitted it with comments such as, “I’m not supposed to take questions” or “I’m going to get into trouble for answering questions”.
Another huge indicator: Sen. James Risch (R.-Idaho) asked Blinken what many of us have wondered: “Who controls the button on Joe’s mic” and shuts it off, so he can’t answer questions and make a fool of himself. Of course Blinken tried to deny that was happening, but we’ve all seen it MANY times.
Others are running the country and Biden voters should have known this before casting their ballots. Anyone with any common sense could see that he was not fit to run the country.
