Drew Peterson did everything he could to will USC to a victory but the Trojans fall short, 68-66.

Poor foul by Ethan Anderson with three seconds left with the push Charlie Moore and give two free throws with 3 seconds left.

How crucial was that out-of-bounds call?

Looks like a nail-biter of a finish.

Drew Peterson and Isaiah Wong each have four fouls with 9:36 left.

Reese Dixon-Waters’ 3-pointer gives the Trojans a 35-33 lead.

USC finally makes a run as Isaiah Mobley’s hit two 3-pointers and a short bank shot. The Trojans cut lead to 33-32.

It’s halftime. USC scores a season-low 20 points and trails Miami, 31-20.

USC went more than 7 minutes without a field goal but gets back-to-baskets from Drew Peterson and Reese Dixon-Waters. It’s 29-20, Miami.

Timeout USC: Miami leads 27-16.

Miami on an 8-0 run and it’s 21-14.

USC shooting up to 33 percent and leads 14-13.

The two teams start game shooting 3 for 19.

Gotta break out the little chairs for the timeout even if crowd isn’t hostile.

Slow start by USC. But Miami is shooting poorly (14 percent).

Five minutes into game and it’s 4-4.

We have a live blog going for the USC-Miami game.

Getting close to tip off. USC’s Isaiah White is not dressed.

  1. Looks like an Enfield coached team! I hope someone shoved that Athletic Director Of The Year straight-up Bohn’s ass.

  2. Weird how well coached teams that have time to prepare for Enfield always seem to shut USC down. It’s almost like they know what’s coming!

  3. John Wooden use to say “Quckness is the key ingredient for a basketball player.” Well, take a look at how mechanical our team looks despite the size advantage. This is not about coaching it is recruiting quickness especially at the guard position.

Unless Miami cools off USC is going home after 1 game. Enfield, needs to recruit some guards which are the key in the NCAA tournament. Issiah Mobley is very overrated too slow has no lateral quickness, and not a great jumper probably very lucky if he even gets drafted in the NBA probably should come back. Even Boogie Ellis looks slow compared to the Miami guards so he too will probably be forced to come back to USC again next season.

  4. Lots of these turnovers are just plain carelessness—— 12 in the first half. Also the Trojans look too tight. We need to relax a little and settle down.

  5. Thanks Enfield!!

Maybe the soft schedule will cause coach to rethink preseason schedule.

    Yeah right!!

Hey the team is on the upswing after the Bozo the Clown guy, Kevin ONeill and other assorted characters.

I would tell Mobley to come back as well as he is not ready for NBA.

Whatever happens in 2nd half ok with me.

  6. NAH……….MIAMI IS TOO QUICK TO THE BALL. USC IS SLOW THAT CAUSES THE MAJORITY OF THE TURNOVERS. WATCH HOW FAST THE MIAMI PLAYERS REACT WHEN THE BALL GOES INSIDE WE ARE SIMPLY NOT QUICK ENOUGH WHICH TAKES AWAY OUR SIZE ADVANTAGE. GAME OVER- UNLESS ONE OF OUR GUYS GETS HOT……..

As soon as this game as over Enfield needs to move away from size, and recruit quickness especially at guard.

  7. Looking forward to football season and Riley’s first Spring Football. Don’t want to hear any more about these underachieving basketball chodes and Head Chode Enfield after today. They’re depressing. Football is all that really matters, anyway.

  8. Looks like my personal March Madness will be over (SC loses) before it hardly started. 11 points down looks insurmountable when your team could only score 20 points in an entire half. SC once froze the ball on sucla in 1970 and even that game was 46-44,probably more points than SC is going to score today.

Oh well, the Trojans have never had a sustained basketball run, and if Wiley does not work out there is always SC women’s lacrosse to look forward to

  9. “We won the most games in school history!” Dudes still fouling on 3-pointers and jump shots… Had a chance there to bury Miami and break their soul but alas

  10. He’s going to say too many turnovers, but he’s the one has them running an offense where they dribble too much into the middle of the floor and make way too many interior passes.

  11. Good ole Sark After Dark, A.K.A. Enfield, does it again. There is no way that USC should’ve lost this game. Here are two glowing stats….18 turnovers and a measly 9/15-60% from the free throw line. This all goes back to a lack of discipline and no team, no matter how talented, can over come that. Thanks to Coach Bohn giving Enfield a large contract extension, we are stuck.

  12. My concern is that this is going to be the future of USC basketball under Enfield. Even last year, when they made a ran, they got clocked by Gonzaga.

I just think that Enfield is a good, but not great coach. But the USC fans dont really show up to support the team, so maybe we are getting the best we deserve.

Riley will show USC fans what happens when you combine the best coach with the unique recruiting situation at USC.

  13. HELP WANTED- @USC Guards with some quickness. NCAA Tournament games are won at the guard position. Over 20 turnovers today in a tournament game – most of that is due to the other team having better/quicker guards. Looks like Mobley, Petersen, and Boogie Ellis will all have to return or play in the NBA D League. Ellis, was terrible today definitely not a point guard, and definitely not ready for the NBA if ever. Mobley, is too mechanical not quick enough for the NBA might make a roster at some pointbut will never be a star like his brother.

Reece Dixon Waters is a star of the future. USC needs to build the team around him with some quick guards, and leave Peterseon on the wing, and importantly he should not be allowed to handle the ball as he dribbles to much. I see alot of one on one dribble penetration into the paint by both Petersen and Mobley, and then they get double teamed far too often leading to turnovers. A good point guard takes it into the paint deep, and then dishes off so the big guys don’t have to dribble.

USC is having a good recruiting year, but I still don’t see a point guard who can penetrate the paint, and hit the 3 pointer. Regardless, of the schedule it’s all about recruiting all 5 pieces who have quickness size is not as important as Enfield thinks.

I see Petersen, and Ellis returning for sure. Mobley, will be stubborn so he can collect some money like his brother, but the talent is not even close to his brother and I see him going thru the draft without getting drafted, and making the jump as free agent.
