Add Colin Cowherd

Here’s another gem from when Mike Bohn picked Colin Cowherd’s brain — according to Cowherd.

“When Pete Carroll was here, there was no NFL, there was no LAFC, the Dodgers weren’t as dominant . . . the world’s changed,” Cowherd said.

From 2004-09, the Dodgers went to the playoffs four times. That’s not nothing.

LAFC? LOL.

But notice Cowherd didn’t mention the Lakers.

From 1999-2002, the Lakers won three staight NBA titles. From 2003-10, the Lakers went to the NBA Finals four more times and won two championships.

They were much better during the Carroll Era than they are now. In 2009, they had a parade with 150,000 fans capped by a large crowd at the Coliseum.

But to listen to Cowherd, there was nothing going on in L.A. back then compared to today. If Bohn really listens to this guy . . . oy vey.

  1. Bohn To Cowherd: When Pete was coaching were there freeways? Or motels? Did Disneyland exist? Had the word “sanctions” been invented?

  2. I’ve been listening to Colin Cowherd since his espn days, and I have always found him to be credible . I think Scott Wolf is jealous, because he wishes he was Cowherd . 💋

    1. Just add Cowherd to the list of people Scooter is jealous. Hot wife, great career, lots of $$ and you’re on the list. Fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life.

    3. That might be a stretch. I think Wolf is comfortable in his own skin.

Now, wanting to make Coward’s money, that might be another thing.

      1. Actually, Cowherd did mentioned the Lakers maybe not when you listened to his show but he has spoken about this multiple times. But he is right about the NFL. There were none and now you got two NFL teams AND an improved Clipper team with Star talent. The point is, Los Angeles is crowded with teams and star talent, and the Trojans are not the only game in town.

  4. Cowherd may be the most annoying and demonstrably wrong (again and again) of anyone with a sports TV/Radio show. Wolf pointing out the particulars of this instance is like pointing to a turd in a shithouse, we already got the point. I guess his larger point is that he keeps acting like he’s chummy and giving directions to Bohn, but that’s his m.o., no one at HH takes Cowherd seriously or believes him. Right? … Right!? (Nervousness sets in)

      1. That guy doesn’t love USC, he is attaching himself to a local brand. Kissed every azz no matter how bad for USC it was because it gave him the ability to talk bs, even though he was always, always wrong on everything. Some of that resulted in some small way in giving cover for rot and we see the result of that. I’ve never really been big on anyone’s schtick– care enough to be informed and keep it honest and straight and I’ll listen. I can’t take okey, only self promoting fake guys like that. But it’s LA…

  5. Here’s something to chew on: according to this morning’s paper California is quickly becoming the abortion capital.
California also has a law prohibiting state agencies from using state funds to travel to or do business with states without gay rights. This is just a pandering law meant to make the focus group vote for the overlords who placed the law on the books. State schools cannot travel to other states deemed unfriendly to gay people.
So, how long before California enacts a law that has the same idea for states that restrict abortion? Will Ucla become a private (funded) school?

      1. Speaking of Scott and his likes and dislikes — I wonder how he got on with the late Mike Qualls (the City Editor for the newspaper Scott used to work for—and, later, press liaison for the L. A. City Attorney’s Office). Mike once told me during a disagreement that he wouldn’t waste time exchanging punches with me —he’d just pick up a chair and kill me with it. On another occasion when I did an interview with CBS without telling him in advance he called to ask me if I thought his job was “sitting in an office with my [his] dick in my [his] hand.”
        I loved that guy…and I miss him.

  8. Full moon tonight…..the SCNG (Register, Daily Breeze et.al.) ran that long interview this weekend with the Ucla AD Martin Jarmond. Quite lengthy – it was amusing his not mentioning USC in any of his long replies nor Mike Bohn and even more he made no timeline on when the deal was struck only noting his working for MI St. and OH St. giving him Big10 insight.
Ucla owes this entire move to USC just sorry they are joining us two years hence. As to Cowherd it is amusing to hear PMS rip him.
I’m sorry Simers retired – save for his love affair for Wooden and Scully, he was funny and laser focused in weaknesses of those he honed in on.
The Pac12 has been on life support for what a decade? Look at the head coaches this past year save for Cristobal and Smith (OR and OR St.) they all sucked esp. Dorral at CO. 0 – 5 bowls and courtesy of the morons at bel-air tech bailing out against NC in San Diego.
Any idea where the new ‘Deadeaux Field’ will be built after 2028 Summer Games?
