Will Interceptions Be Issue For USC?

There are all kinds of preseason stat bets out there on BetOnline that include Caleb Williams.

What’s interesting is the oddsmakers believe Williams will throw more interceptions than Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud. Williams is 6/5 while Young is 8/5 and Stroud 7/4 when asked who throws more interceptions?

Is this based on Williams or the USC offensive line?

    1. Never was a fan of Fantasy-Football, and setting odds on such trivial football-matters seems like right up that same alley.

      Lord knows most of us already get more than enough football-stuff. Why, way back in the day, not so far away actually, maybe 50-years or so, give-or-take, the only SC sports news most had access to was through the L.A. Times and Herald-Examiner.

      But it wasn’t so bad. Sometime less is more. And you would get scenes back then that you would never get today.

      For example, I recall one-time in Catalina observing a teenage boy hawking the Herald and cutely accenting each syllable as he cried out, “Her-ald-Ex-press news-paper, Herald-Express, read all about it, read all about it, lady, SC Trojans win again”

        My dad used to get the L.A. Times around 50 or so more years ago. They covered SC very well with Jim Murry making his comments about Mckay. Murry should have received a check for selling SC so much from SC. They also had Paul Conrad. Those two guys were very good. I din’t care for Conard’s political point of view, but I respected how he got to the point that he was trying to make in his cartoons. Murry could write. He was the best.

    1. Actually Scott, Oddsmakers don’t think about reality at all. Oddsmakers think that more people will bet one way than another. They care more about how delusional the fan base is than how skilled the quarterback is.

    1. 3. USC linebacker Eric Gentry: One of two intra-conference transfers to meet our threshold played in all 13 games last season for Arizona State. Gentry is 6-foot-6 and makes quality use of his wingspan. We expect him to unseat a returning starter, Ralen Goforth, and make a weekly impact.

  12. Gavin Newsome couldn’t beat silly Joe Biden in California. Clearly the defensive minded Pac 12 will cause USC all kinds of problems and make Caleb a interception machine. . . .
