It’s Outrage Monday

I naively thought the USC-UCLA game would start around 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. but instead it’s another night kickoff.

USC and UCLA will both be ranked in the top 10 for the game. Maybe you like 5 p.m. kickoffs. I don’t hate them but I like a more traditional kickoff for a big fall game. Also, it just seems so Pac-12 to do this and not announce it until six days before the game.

It’s another reminder of how amateurish the Pac-12 can be at times. Blame the TV deal. Blah, blah, blah.

  • Here’s a good one: USC does not have classes Friday (Veterans Day) but still will not allow tailgating on campus before the Colorado game. It will also not allow tailgating at the USC Village.

So one of the big inconveniences of a Friday game is that students have to deal with the football fans and the fans come to campus with limited parking available because of classes.

But there are no classes!

So why not relax the rules? Nope.

Thanks, Folt!

  1. Less people in the midwest and on the east coast watching to witness the shameful job Grinch, Nua and the other idiot Donte Williams have done with the Ladies of Troy defense

  2. That is bs, Wolf! If they were having classes, fine. But since they aren’t, what gives?!!

I stated a couple of months ago and I stand by it…they are doing everything they can to eliminate tailgating unless you attend one of their foofoo events.

I’m not fancy enough for those. ZZ Top said it best…

  4. SC is setting up a play that they will run in the future. In the last 2 weeks, they have run that reverse to Michael Jackson. They gained 50 some yards the first time and 20 some the second time. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them run it again against Colorado. But then, probably against UCLA, they will line up the same way and have Jackson circling around for the reverse and even have Caleb Williams moving to the left as if he were going to block for MJ, only this time Dye will fake the handoff to MJ and keep it running to his right and make a lot of yards.

  5. I sincerely hope it’s at 5 pm and not 7:30. 5 pm is at least prime time viewing on the East Coast, and many marquee games in the B1G and SEC are at 5 pm. (7:30 pm PT would be an utter crime–farewell Pac-12!)

But I definitely prefer to watch USC play in the afternoon. What happened to the days of 1:30 and 3:30 PT game times? Blame TV. (At least I get to watch then though.)

  6. My prediction is that SC gets the 5:00 slot and Utah-Oregon will be relegated to 7:30 because the sucla game has Final-4 implications for both teams whereas Utah is out of the running with 2 losses.

    1. if utah wins they are dead center in the running,as will be oregon…they will probably get an earlier game due to the winner will be favored to win pac12 title…SC must win to be in it…will be a great day for college football in general

  7. Did you know Anthony Hill decommitted from Texas A&M hey LR go close the deal he is a game changer. I heard he loved his visit Just imagine Curis Gentry& Hill as your starting linebackers for next year that would bring back PC type of move. I heard now some of the present class is leaning toward decommitting would be a clever move, to take a couple of DT either via transfer portal or their present class use your Texas connections to start getting top tier DT from Texas. We need stout DT who are space eaters. I do see a lot of players flipping with how some teams are performing just my opinion. We don’t have DT 6-4 335 in Cali or the West Coast. Plain and simple our recruiting department must start developing relationships with these type of players early instead of offering them when they are juniors. I believe LR will do better from our winning season.

  8. who gets the prime afternoon slots? there are only three games on the 19th that match top 25 teams. could play mich/ ill in the am here, utah/ore in the afternoon and a happy hour match with the bruins and the trojans. makes too much sense to me

  9. Hopefully Hill will consider us he put us in his top 5 Texas, Miami Oklahoma Bama looking at how those teams are doing it will come down to us n Bama. Throw all out NIL money it takes to get him. If we get him he will attract DT to go play with him and give us a better chance at competing with the big boys.

  10. Grinch needs to show that he can use big bodies and adjust to a two gap player. Odom needs to go back along with the bagman and bring more athletes on the defensive line back to USC. They don’t come because USC don’t pay enough.

  11. Bad news, I kept wondering if SC beats sucla are they in the Pac-12 Championship game if Utah should beat Oregon, and the answer I finally got was that no, Oregon would go because of a slight strength of schedule over SC. So SC needs for Oregon to beat Utah

    1. John –what has to happen for USC to get another shot at Utah in the Pac 12 Championship? [We know USC has to beat UCLA…but what ELSE has to shake out]?

    2. That’s lame LJ, this year especially when Oregon got spanked by Georgia, they didn’t even compete. So the strength of schedule is overrated for them. USC loses by 1 point against Utah and beats Notre Dame and the ruins, they get left out. Wtf is that nonsense.? This is why USC is leaving the PAC 12. It sucks, the refs suck, and their rules for tiebreakers suck. By the way the former and new commissioner both suck. So does Carol Folt. With all the suck going around. It’s hard to believe that the Trojans are 8-1 so far fight on. I’m done ranting now sheesh!

    3. So Kliavkoff would have a rematch of Utah vs Oregon instead of a rematch of USC vs Utah? Wouldn’t those two teams (USC and Utah) be the highest ranked in your scenario?

  13. I haven’t seen confirmation on this scenario involving sucla, but assuming sucla wins and Utah beats Oregon leaving Utah, Oregon and sucla with 8-1 conference records who goes to the championship game?– Oregon beat sucla, sucla beat Utah and Utah will have beaten Oregon, so I don’t know, and if SC loses to sucla then I don’t care what happens

    1. LJ you don’t have to give SUCLA any chance against us. It will be a high scoring game. Either team will be able to stop each other one big play will win this game and go down as another classic rivalry game with a lot riding for both teams. Crazy this is not primetime smfh

  14. Just arrived in Germany. I will miss the CO game but arrive home late Friday night before the sucla game. You guys need to all learn to get along. We had to ride from the airport to the hotel with 2 old women from Seattle. Man, we did not hit it off at all. In the end I told them they can have all the political differences possible and say whatever they want and I will fight to the death to protect their right to say stupid shit. Didn’t go over to well with with them and they quit talking. Then the limo driver was a Scot, and he and I hit it off great. Heading toward Prague Friday on a Viking cruise with a free drinks package. WooHoo!!
