Saturday Buzz: A Scouting Report Before Picking The USC-UCLA Score

A USC player tells me the scouting report for the UCLA game is fairly simple.

“We just have to worry about the quarterback and the tailback,” the player said.

This is another way of saying USC doesn’t think UCLA’s wide receivers are going to be a big problem. And it jibes with what a Pac-12 coach told me last week in his own analysis of the game.

OK, time for you to pick the score of today’s game.

According to BetOnline, 66 percent are betting on the over of 77.5 points for the USC-UCLA game.

The polar opposite is the Iowa-Minnesota game, which has an over of 32.5 points. BetOnline says 76 percent are betting the over. This is the second lowest total in more than 20 years.

  3. UCLA is going to curb stomp USC. The UCLA running back is going to have a career day against this Charmin defense. Tuli is overrated and will not have an impact on this game. Gentlemen, today the reality that this team is an overrated rag tag group of transfers sets in. USC finally gets what they deserve and that is to be embarrassed on national tv at the hands of their rivals. UCLA today and Notre Dame next week. Today, the real season starts!!!

      1. I remember a former girlfriend saying she’d like to give me the directions to the 7th level of hell [it’s possible she said “second level’ —which isn’t nearly as bad —since it’s only a couple of levels lower than purgatory]…..

  7. USC stops the run and makes UCLA one dimensional. DTR will make some costly mistakes during the game. USC will win–don’t really care about the score, just the result!

  9. So you say Corso said SC would play Georgia in the Semi-Finals as a No. 4
    Translates to if SC wins out (odds are against it) it will beat out
    Tennessee, LSU and the loser of Ohio St-Michigan for that coveted
    4-Spot. Those teams will whine but SC has the equities on its side
    when comparing overall Season’s success

    Are you now excited, it’s been said all along SC is playing for
    the 2022 National Football Title starting with sucla this evening.

  10. I said it earlier in the week USC should be10-0, and UCLA should be7-3. A Lincoln Riley team that’s 10-0 , is not going to lose any team that is 7-3. USC wins by two touchdowns. Riley said everything‘s in front of us and we know what we have to do.

    1. Bad enough with House of Cards popularity, but John Wick made it impossible to find at less than $200. I refuse to buy it from a secondary retailer.

  22. Tuli will be double teamed all day, so won’t be surprising if he doesn’t get his usual sacks and TFLs. Nick Figeroa will have a big day. Gentry will spy DTR and give him fits. Korey Foreman will finally have the huge game we’ve been waiting for. The windy weather could be the difference in the game, with a missed field goal by either side due to the wind. I’m taking USC 41 – 31.

  23. I’ve seen so many gutless calls made by coaches today. TCU is trash and so is Michigan. If they faced a competent coaching staff then they would be crying about their 1st losses. It is mind boggling how these guys want all the money and when it comes time to win they play it safe?!???
