Thanks(giving) Enfield!

I’m watching Richarlison score the goal of the World Cup; the Lions-Bills go down to the wire and then I make the mistake of checking out USC basketball.

Six turnovers in OT vs. Tennessee in a 73-66 loss. Drew Peterson with just nine points.

  1. I see Scottie is back to normal by changing subjects before I could even digest that last bite of turkey, but November Grinch is more on my mind than November SC basketball as one wonders what effect this avalanche of criticism has on his defensive charges who instead might need a boost of confidence from the Trojan faithful in the ND game and beyond

  2. SC took a top 25 team to overtime with 2 veteran players and 3 not veteran…Tenn has an extremely tall veteran team and a top rated coach…I do thank AE for good coaching …SC was the under dog and almost won vs a very good team.

      1. “Almost winning” attitudes is for losers is the current cliche when it comes to sports’ losses JO but the contrary view is superior, otherwise this year’s SC-sucla game would not have become a classic without the valiant effort by sucla

    1. You aren’t well versed in the basketball are you? I mean, it took some exceptional coaching to use your last timeout to set up a play you then can’t run because you couldn’t get the ball inbound and get a 5 seconds turnover.

You know why they couldn’t get the ball inbound? Because Enfield has like 4 plays and is wildly predictable. Tennessee knew exactly what he was trying to run and knew how to defend it.

You know what’s crazy? Rick Barnes is almost as bad of a coach as Andy! It’s the equivalent of getting out coached by Clay Helton.

  3. I get ya Tim. But geez 20 f-n turnovers and 6 in OT. (good teams are around 8 per game). Most of the turnovers were unforced. Out boarded vols by by 6 in the first half then got outboard by 10 in the second half. Tenn on one possession got 4 offensive boards. Peterson had 7 turnovers. That’s not supposed to happen with a 5th year sr. I think Wisconsin had 7 turnovers for the game with OT. Sloppy F-n basketball. Thats the frustrating part. Cant inbound the ball after a timeout. And are always empty after timeouts for set plays. That doesnt happen with good teams and good coaches.

    1. don’t get me started on they 2 and 1’s on breakaways that were pointless but cost us 2 extra points. (wouldn’t have had to go to OT if we didn’t do that)

    2. Most of the turnovers were Drew Peterson being a selfish team last player. 7 turnovers 4 fouls, 2 in overtime + him taking Steph Curry hero shots he doesn’t have the skill to make are basically turnovers too. Enfield should’ve benched him and given someone else a chance. Pretty good chance they couldn’t do worse than Drew was doing.

And LOLZ how he declared for the draft last year and the NBA teams laughed at him so he came back to USC using his COVID extra year of eligibility. He like the college white guy Lakers era Russell Westbrook.

    3. I mostly agree, but those inexperienced players add to veterans mistakes, taking extreme chances vs teams they should not beat…crap happens…they played hard and lost in o/t…more close than I expected or any one else.
