These are rare color photos I first ran in September from when Martin Luther King spoke at the Coliseum in May, 1964.
The photos were taken by Jay A. Brown, who worked as an assistant to Congressman Thomas Rees. But it went undiscovered until it was found a drawer by Brown’s daughter about 50 years later.

Here’s a close-up that shows Dick Van Dyke on the far left. Van Dyke turned 97 last month.

Below is a picture of King speaking at Bovard Auditorium on Oct. 16, 1967.

Happy MLK day everyone

Good question Ed. MLK was born Michael King Jr. His father, a minister went to Europe and found the evangelical reformist Martin Luther to be a true Christian. He returned home and changed his name to Martin Luther King he also changed his son’s name to Martin Luther King Jr.

So MG, your guys thought they could dance in high school, huh,
well if you had gone to school in Hawaii I might buy that–
Best to start with mimicking the arms’ movements of the hula dancers
adding-in your own masculine touches

John — you’d actually be proud of my dancing…..

If we keep this up we might have to stop our manufactured outrage when it comes to the left’s harassment of conservative figures.
