It Turns Out There Were Even Less Freshmen Admitted Than Thought At USC

There was an error in reporting USC’s admission acceptance rate this week.

USC originally said only 11.5 percent were accepted. It turns out the actual acceptance rate was 9.9 percent, which means less than 10 percent got into school.

  1. 9.9 is less than 10, and you just cannot find this quality news-reporting anywhere else except at the ‘Wolf-Den’

By the way, the paper was the Herald Express until 1962 as I recall one summer on Catalina Island a young newspaper hawker yelling out, “Her-ald-Ex-press News-paper, read all about it”

    1. There was the Herald in the afternoon and the Examiner in the morning. They combined into the Herald Examiner, my cousin was the Long Beach distributer.

Now thanks to ‘marketing’ that the Lakers Lebron James, A.D. and possees

Never knew just know racist you were. Must suck living in a country where the white man is becoming marginalized. Perception can fuck with your mental health.

I do agree with you, perception can greatly influence what you think about someone, and it goes both ways my friend. The thing is, you cannot deny being marginalized, I was showing the stupidity of the woke left, which marginalizes or cancels everything it doesn’t like.

      1. This whole culture war thing has gotten ridiculous. We have fanatics on the right and left who want to brand things “woke” that have been nonpartisan forever. I just laugh at these people who found a label to define something, in their opinion, that’s broke or they don’t like.

      2. Funny parody on the falsely labelled “don’t say Gay” law. The law says public school teachers may not instruct on sexual orientation or gender identity in grades kindergarten through third grade. No restriction on the “gay” word. It appears that Gabby thinks it is a good idea to have teachers talk to little kids about how their male or female genitalia doesn’t mean they are a boy or girl and that they are free to choose their sex. It is also interesting that the left rarely can find real life examples to advance their false narratives but instead resort to parodies or outright fabrication. For example, Jussie Smollet and Bubba Wallace.

Don’t put words in my mouth. I don’t have any kids that fall into that category. What kids are being taught or not taught should be based on the decisions made by the parent….Not some 80-year-old know-it-all like you. It’s comical how you have no dog in the fight yet feels decisions made at local levels might impact your life. You’re just fucking constantly bitching because you have nothing else going on in your life. Try another country.

      4. The Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy
This fallacy gets its colorful name from an anecdote about a Texan who fires his gun at a barn wall, and then proceeds to paint a target around the closest cluster of bullet holes. He then points at the bullet-riddled target as evidence of his expert marksmanship.

Speakers who rely on the Texas sharpshooter fallacy tend to cherry-pick data clusters based on a predetermined conclusion. Instead of letting a full spectrum of evidence lead them to a logical conclusion, they find patterns and correlations in support of their goals, and ignore evidence that contradicts them or suggests the clusters weren’t actually statistically significant

      5. Gabby says “What kids are being taught or not taught should be based on the decisions made by the parent.” I agree Gabby. But you will never be elected to the school board in a blue state.

You say that I am 80 years old and “don’t have a dog in the fight.” Wrong Gabby. I am much younger than you think and have a teenager in public school. He is very much affected by the covid policies, CRT and let’s groom your child to accept sexual perversion as normal agenda. His teachers had to attend a workshop at few weeks ago on DEI. The superintendent of his school district, a black man, has repeatedly referred to the school system as systematically racist even though less than 20% of the students and most of the faculty are “people of color.” It amazes me how often you make erroneous assumptions about people on this board. I am an “80 year old, childless, white man living in his privileged all white community with nothing to live for.” Hilarious.

      6. plow, once again, I have no dog in the fight. So please don’t bore me with issues related to your child’s school. IMO, all sexual orientation decisions should be banned from elementary schools. Let the parent deal with it and if a child is confused about why he has a penis then the parent needs to preceded accordingly. Sex education classes at the HS level appropriately give older kids the ability to process what is being taught.

Nobody laughing at me, perhaps with me, but in the end Gab, you got nothing, no truth, no facts, nothing to defend your position. Just like the democrats today. “Equal justice for all”, what a joke that is. But when it comes to football, we are brothers.

  6. USC accepts less than 10% of all applicants. Of those accepted 53% are
female and 47% are male. The demographics by ethnicity taken from USC’s
    website shows as follows:

    Asians 19.3%
    Black/African-American 5.8%
    Hispanic 15.3%
    White/Caucasian 24.8%
    International 26.6%
    Other 8.2%

Folt called USC systemically racist a few years ago. She added that she was committed to enrolling more minorities and other groups that have been marginalized. USC has over 100 DEI teachers/administrators, about 3 times the number of history professors. A question arises why this is truly necessary given the ethnic diversity that exists today and has existed for the past 10 years. Only 12 of every 100 students is a native born white male. Seems that should be diverse enough without the need for over a hundred DEI administrators.

      1. Under the heading of logical fallacies, it states:
“An ad hominem argument is a personal attack against the source of an argument, rather than against the argument itself. Essentially, this means that ad hominem arguments are used to attack opposing views indirectly, by attacking the individuals or groups that support these views.
Ad hominem arguments can take many forms, from basic name-calling to more complex rhetoric. For example, an ad hominem argument can involve simply insulting a person instead of properly replying to a point that they raised”

Our Gabby, the king of the ad hominem logical fallacy. Is their anyone on this board other than MG who he has not attacked personally by calling him a racist or bigot or or sexual pervert or worse in response to an opinion or argument that he can not refute.

  7. Insecurities. Looks like USC is interested in making money. Like any business. Less freshmen is a result of shifting focus from adding students who might definitely on loans. I think the level of poverty that has increased in particular sections of the dominant community is a result of the retreat by wealthy members of that group who have overburdened the social institutions with protecting the economic success of marginalized members. Engagement by wealthy Trojan alumni towards diversity goals show the true canary in the coal mine. For all the public talk about increasing diversity, USC was more diverse as a student body 10 to 20 years ago. The difference is the increase of international students and their ethnic makeup.

The majority of international students come from China and India. Relatively few come from Europe. I don’t understand why this would not properly contribute to diversity and as set forth above “international students” is a separate category in the demographics data. USC is incredibly diverse today. Agree that the changes may have something to do with money but the tuition charged to international students is about the same as native students.

  10. USC is shifting it’s focus from Liberal Arts degrees or degrees in social business activity to degrees in STEM or computer related arts curriculum to attract more international students like Canadians. President Folt can publicly declare her intentions to make USC more inclusive and not a “racist institution” but her administration is following the money as usual and pulling a DeSantis by offering red herrings to the public to avoid scrutiny of her contradictions. SC has been top 3 in diverse student body populations since 1978. Now it’s getting more diverse?

  11. I could go on for days about the two-faced nature of USC leadership. I think Mr. Wolf should interview President Folt and try to address what the decision making process looks like from the current school administration and which legacies and traditions are worth holding onto? So, kids making money and fame for the school is great but the culture that made those efforts possible is racist? Still?
