Dumb USC Tweet Of The Week

I occassionally retweet USC president Carol Folt, including a couple days ago for a policy speech. So I’m not against her.

But this is one of the dumbest tweets I’ve seen recently.

Yes, the Lakers won Monday night because Lincoln Riley was at the game.

As LeBron James drove for a layup to send the game into overtime, I’m sure he thought, “I’ve got to do it for Lincoln!”

Folt’s tweet is something you would see from an adolescent.

  4. Well, I am not ‘Without-a-Folt’s’ biggest fan, but stating someone is a
    “good luck charm” is a common throw-away phrase that doesn’t mean
    that that person had anything to do with the outcome

    1. Agree Sparrow. But I can’t imagine a university president of a prestigious school using that phrase 40 years ago. It would be considered common language that is below the standards of an academic. The problem is that Ms. Folt does not come off as a serious person.

      3. The truth is that Ms. Folt does not have the raw talent or experience to be a successful
        President of USC. She was given that position because she checked the appropriate equity boxes of the Board of Trustees. Equity or reverse discrimination does not work because ultimately a person is required to perform at a level that is beyond their ability and everyone suffers when they fail. Thomas Sowell spoke about this many years ago. His interviews are still on the internet. The person who is elevated beyond their ability will ultimately get frustrated, lose confidence, and quit. Your seeing this live today with Kamala Harris. It is a shame. She could have been a very competent elementary school teacher. Joe Biden could have been the substitute teacher who like to smell the kids hair.

  11. It would be nice to see a real moderator, believe it or not I was looking for the information posted above to see what could be done. Most of this could be simply fixed it only people with accounts were allowed to post.
    As far as Foot goes, the comment is dumb, but that’s not why it’s on this blog.

      1. Barquet was simply just a body to fill a hole. He never recorded a tackle for USC and his leaving gives LR a shot at a quality replacement.
