Gary Bryant Finally Picks A New School

One of the longest transfer sagas I can remember is finally over as former USC wide receiver Gary Bryant committed to Oregon tonight.

This started early last season when Bryant decided to “redshirt” but it was common knowledge he would transfer. He chose Oregon over Texas A&M and Arizona.

This might be hard to believe, but Bryant, who is entering his fourth-year sophomore season, has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He only appeared in three games last season.

But in 2021, Bryant had 44 catches for 579 yards and seven touchdowns, 11 punt returns for 50 yards and 16 kickoff returns for 413 yards in 10 games.

    1. TIREBITER, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

However I was 10 most of ’57, and I collected Baseball cards religiously; I went to LA Angels’ and Rams’ games with my Dad. But I didn’t begin reading the LB Independent P/T sport section for details until I was about 12 or so. That was because the Dodgers moved to LA and the ’59 World Champion Dodgers.

      1. Oh, nooo… My pal Owns and I almost share the same sports history — my favorite baseball cards Duke Snyder, Don Drysdale and, of course. Sandy. Favorite football cards —Billy Wade and the great Jon Arnett.

  2. They got a really good receiver. True…..there is a lot of competition at SC in the receiver room but I’m still not sure why he never made it at SC.

  3. HI OWNS
I LISTENED TO THE SC IRISH GAME IN 1939 ON THE RADIO

MY DAD WAS A BIG TROJANS FAN BUT MY MOM ALWAYS ROOTED FOR THE IRISH. SHE GREW UP IN DANVILLE ILLINOIS AND SAW AT LEAST ONE IRISH GAME IN CHICAGO
IN THOSE EARLY YEARS THE IRISH WERE ALSO KNOWN AS THE RAMBLERS CUZ THEY PLAYED ON THE ROAD A LOT

ALL I REMEMBER IS THE FINAL SCORE OF 20-12 AND THAT ARE TWO STARS WEREGRENNY LANSDELL AND AMBROSE SCHINDLER

AFTER THE TROJANS THE IRISH ARE MY FAVORITE TEAM

      1. That’s the way I got it figured too, George! [That’s why he mentors me on not seeking revenge—i.e., it results in 2 graves —and respecting the word of ancient Chinese philosophers —as well as ancient Bruin basketball coaches]…

    1. I root for Notre Dame too –when they aren’t on the field with the Trojans —and I respect their new Head Football Coach… he’s really a players’ coach —we need to watch out for him in South Bend this year, George…
