USC Sunday Buzz: Areas Of Concern Look Familiar

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here are the areas you need to keep an eye on during Saturday’s spring scrimmage: Offensive line; defensive line; secondary.

Those were the areas of concern a year ago. A USC coach told me this weekend that the defensive position groups should look better but they haven’t consistently looked better in practices.

  • Corona Centennial QB Husan Longstreet is making his college choice this afternoon. USC is not among his final five choices but Longstreet attended a USC practice this week. Is USC keeping touch as an insurance policy in case JuJu Lewis decommits?

UPDATED: Longstreet committed to Texas A&M.

  • Caitlin Clark dropped Lisa Leslie and Cynthia Cooper’s names during her appearance on Saturday Night Live last night.

      1. I find male comics funnier, but women laugh more often and more easily, that’s why they have the superior sense of humor

  1. Who else is stunned that President Hair Sniffer didn’t want to go after our ally Iran ?

What? Iran isn’t our ally ? But we give and gave them all that money, unfroze their assets, how can they not be our friend ?

Ever wonder if Israel thinks we’re their friend ?

  2. P. S.

I hope none of our QB’s get hurt in the Spring “Game” —- if you read between the “lines” of the post practice pressers, the D-line is way ahead of the O-line …..

    1. That’s usually the case isn’t it, it is easier to pin your ears back and hurl yourself at the quarterback than to offensively finesse your way down the field

And so hot quarterback Longstreet goes the way of Texas A&M; isn’t that the school that was tossing money around (at recruits) like drunken sailors

      2. The Colorado game fooled me because SC plays so great in the first half. I thought they just let up. Little did we know it was a sign of things to come. The defense gave up over 40 points a game on average the rest of the regular season.

      3. Had Riley pounded the rock and told Caleb that if he audibles once his ass will be on the bench, the game would have been different

      3. Lawyer John says “Political and religious fanatics filter any information through their bias lenses. “And who decides who is a political and religious fanatic? Let me guess. Our humble lawyer who is never bias and doesn’t own a filter.

A religious fanatic describes a saint. Someone willing to die for their beliefs like Jesus died for them. Many examples of these fanatics. Peter was crucified upside down in Rome; Paul was beheaded in Rome; James thrown off a roof in Jerusalem; Stephen stoned to death in Jerusalem; Thomas died by Brahma sword in India; Phillip was skinned alive in Greece, ect.

The Bible warns against “lukewarm” Christians in the book of revelation. They are described as useless, water that is spit out of the mouth. But nobody will call them “fanatic.” Strive to be a bit fanatic in everything you do and you will have a more rewarding life.

  3. Scotty, are you trying to tell us that you can’t say which coach made the comment because it is confidential? If you were compared to a Winnie-the-Pooh character it would be Eeyore.
