In USC’s past 14 games, I’ve seen two contests where the Trojans looked energized and bonded as a team: the Arizona State game last season and Stanford last night. The common thread was the quarterback in both games was making things happen and providing on-field leadership. Kedon Slovis provided the boost and you could see the rest of the team getting excited as he made … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC Got An Energy Boost

Kedon Slovis has a great debut. So Clay Helton has now picked the wrong starting QB twice (Max Browne, JT Daniels). That’s the main takeaway. Someone will complain that I thought Jack Sears should start ot be the backup. But what did Helton do? He didn’t see Slovis as the starter in Week 1. What would happen if Daniels was hurt for only a week? … Continue reading Discuss The USC-Stanford Game

Kedon Slovis is 28-33 and broken a USC true freshman record for passing yards. How will Clay Helton explain to him that he is the backup for 2020? USC leads 31-20 after three quarters. Kedon Slovis is drawing Sam Darnold comparisons on ESPN. USC leads, 24-20 at halftime. Stephen Carr’s TD run makes it 20-17, Stanford. Kedon Slovis hits Amon-Ra St. Brown for a TD … Continue reading USC-Stanford Live Chat

Especially when Stanford could not manage a point without K.J. Costello last week against Northwestern. But last week’s USC victory over Fresno State left such a sour taste with its resemblance to 2018, that I am … Continue reading USC-Stanford Pick The Score

It would be a great story tomorrow if Kedon Slovis leads USC to victory over Stanford. But why did Clay Helton put USC in this position? He had a QB who started a game last season (Jack Sears) and made it clear he wanted no part of him by naming Sears the No. 4 quarterback. “There is no way Sears was No. 4,” an NFL … Continue reading Clay Helton’s Pride Puts USC At Risk
