A couple things with USC not playing until tonight: Jaxson Dart was poorly coached last season. You can see some old habits that Lane Kiffin is dealing with this season after an erratically coached first year for Dart. Speaking of poor coaching, let’s talk Donte Williams for a second. Does he teach is corners to hold and grab? If you talk to good coaches, the … Continue reading Quick Thought: Let’s Talk USC Coaching For A Second
It’s another exciting game day at the Coliseum. That means loud music, the lights turned off when the team comes out on the field and the announcement “the Trojans are in the Rocket Mortgage Red Zone” every time the offense gets inside the 20-yard line. Sure enough, Bohn talked about the Coliseum and said “it’s hosted a Rose Bowl.” For the record, the Rose Bowl was played at Duke in 1942 and Arlington, Texas, in 2021. Every other time it was played in Pasadena. There was another moment where … Continue reading Did You Catch This Gaffe?
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith had Mike Bohn on his podcast. Yes, he has a podcast. “There were really only two schools that made sense for us (for Big Ten expansion), and it’s USC and UCLA,” Smith said. Does that mean Smith, who is a big-time power broker in college athletics, does not endorse future expansion? If he was against it, it would be … Continue reading USC Notes: A Hint On Future Big Ten Expansion?
