USC holds its football banquet tonight so Clay Helton is not speaking to the media today. Did Mike Bohn or Carol Folt hear any of the USC fans chanting “Fire Helton” yesterday? As Bohn visits with virtually anyone who wants to chat, I would imagine he has heard an earful from fans about the state of the football program. With no decision expected this week, … Continue reading Sunday Night Without Clay Helton
Is it weird that Kedon “515 yards passing” Slovis did not get a game ball but Carol Folt and Mike Bohn did? Anyways, I already discussed Kirk Herbstreit and Brian Griese giving full endorsements to Clay Helton returning next season. But ABC sideline reporter Molly McGrath also defended Helton on twitter. The USC HC job is one of the toughest in CFB, but Clay Helton’s … Continue reading National TV Media Endorsed Clay Helton
USC coach Clay Helton gave school president Carol Folt a game ball after the victory over UCLA. That means he gave game balls to Folt and Mike Bohn. Talk about a guy trying to press every button to save his job. I wonder if he called her “Coach Folt” like he said, “Coach Bohn” and “Coach Haden” and “Coach Nikias.” Continue reading Clay Helton Puts Political Skills To Work
Here is my column on where things stand with Clay Helton and Mike Bohn right now. Excerpt: “If he brings Helton back because USC won five of its final six games, Bohn must ignore the thousands of empty seats in the Coliseum on Saturday, as well a 2020 recruiting class that ranks 76th nationally.” What will Bohn do? Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: What Will Mike Bohn Do?
USC athletic director Mike Bohn did not want to speak to reporters after the UCLA game: “Not today, we just beat the Bruins.” He did say this about UCLA. “I beat ’em (UCLA) twice in the same year.” That includes Cincinnati defeating UCLA earlier this season. Did you hear Kirk Herbstreit defend Helton on the Oregon-Arizona State game? Just like Brian Greise did at the … Continue reading Mike Bohn Won’t Tip Hand
This was a typical Clay Helton victory. USC gets a lead and then has to hold off UCLA. We also saw the bad effects of Clancy Pendergast and John Baxter, which I predicted before the game. Did you hear Brian Griese‘s full-throated endorsement of Helton during the game? He said Helton deserves to return, of course. “It’s not about me, it’s about these kids,” Helton … Continue reading Discuss The USC-UCLA Game
