Some people have asked about this: USC and UCLA are in the Sweet 16 together for the third time (2021, 2007, 2001). USC is currently a 2-point favorite over Oregon. Today’s USC newsletter has a funny story about inside reaction to Clay Helton’s comments. Here’s a follow-up to this morning’s post, when I asked if Oregon State was complaining about a lack of respect from … Continue reading Notes: A USC-UCLA Sweet 16 Fact
Some people applauded earlier this week when former USC safety Talanoa Hufanga said he wasn’t working out at an elite gym for Pro Day but doing one-on-workouts with Troy Polamalu to help with the mental aspects of football. Maybe he should have hired a trainer since he did only 12 reps on the benchpress. No one else is going to mention this, however. The good … Continue reading Unconventional Approach To Pro Day
The biggest impression at Pro Day was the appearance of Raiders general manager Mike Mayock and offensive line coach Tom Cable. They were watching Alijah Vera-Tucker and the Raiders have the 17th pick. Mayock used to come to USC and hold court as an NFL Network analyst before he went to the Raiders. Alijah Vera-Tucker 36 Jay Tufele … Continue reading USC Pro Day Marks
USC will hold its Pro Day at 8 a.m. on the NFL Network. The most intriguing prospect to me isn’t even draft eligible. I’ve heard Kedon Slovis wants to throw to his former receivers. If it happens, it will be interesting to see how he looks since injuring his shoulder at the conclusion of the Oregon game. Then again, would USC let him throw if … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Pro Day Might Be Interesting
Can you name the USC linebacker in the photo without cheating? I doubt many who read this will guess correctly. So USC plays Drake on Saturday? I think the Trojans can just about beat anyone and just about lose to anyone in the NCAA Tournament. It will be all about their shooting because they won’t get any bench help from Andy Whinefield. The NCAA Tournament … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
