WINNERS The defense You would think Todd “Blitz Boy” Orlando won the Super Bowl in some quarters from the reaction to beating Utah. It might be nice to see USC dominate a team not playing its first game with two unimpressive quarterbacks. Kana’i Mauga The linebacker had 11 tackles, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss. If he keeps playing like this, it would be … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Winners And Losers Of The Week
Everything was peachy Sunday night after an easy win over Utah. Clay Helton praised defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu and said he “may be the best defensive player in our league right now, the way he’s playing.” Helton said defensive end Nick Figueroa is playing at an “all-conference” level the first three games. Helton said linebacker Ralen Goforth sprained his foot during the game. Helton said … Continue reading Sunday Night With Clay Helton

Were quarterbacks Cameron Rising and Jake Bentley awful? It didn’t matter because Clay Helton never mentioned either of those things in evaluating the performance. Clay Helton on Todd Orlando: He has no fear in his … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Break Out Champagne For Defense
What a turgid game. It was obvious this was Utah’s first game, especially the awful quarterback play. Kedon Slovis still far from his 2019 self. You can say there were some positives but how many were because of Utah’s ineptness. Tell me what Big Boy programs USC would have beaten tonight? They still look vulnerable against the run (and the pass). The offense is not … Continue reading Discus The USC-Utah Game
