USC Morning Buzz: Last Player Leaving Turn Out Lights
USC opens spring practice today in a familiar fashion: With a player leaving the program. Wide receiver/cornerback Keyshawn Young has departed to transfer to another school. Young hasn’t made much of an impression at USC but he is another player whose departure comes at a time when he should see a path to playing time. USC doesn’t have a lot of slot receivers right now … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Last Player Leaving Turn Out Lights
Did You Pick Up Your Coliseum Seats?
Fans were allowed to pick up old Coliseum seats last weekend. I think it’s a great idea but when I look at the seats that fans picked up, the condition looks more depressing than nostalgic. USC Morning Buzz: A Looming Headache For Clay Helton
Over the weekend, I said I spoke to a player who decided to transfer from USC. Here is something else they said that will be a problem for Clay Helton. “Every one on the team wants (Jack) Sears to start (at quarterback),” the player said. It’s going to be an ugly QB competition if the coaches simply start JT Daniels no matter what. Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: A Looming Headache For Clay Helton
USC Football Culture, Part II
The picture of Clay Helton delivering his lecture on USC’s football culture was deleted by the twitter account that posted it (I hope I didn’t have anything to do with that). But here is an even better picture someone sent me: “Qualities of a winning football culture.” Continue reading USC Football Culture, Part II
