USC-UCLA Report Card
QUARTERBACK I’m tired of pointing out what JT Daniels cannot do. But that interception was something else. Of course, Clay Helton doesn’t see it. Sears, please. D+ TAILBACK USC has average tailbacks. All year. Stephen Carr might be special but is either hurt or in the doghouse. C- WIDE RECEIVERS Nice plays by Velus Jones and Amon-Ra St. Brown. But Tyler Vaughns was hardly at … Continue reading USC-UCLA Report Card
USC Morning Buzz: Where Do The Board Of Trustees Stand?
I spoke to a member of the USC Board of Trustees to see if they hear anything regarding Clay Helton’s future and what their role would be next week? “The Board of Trustees really doesn’t like to deal with sports,” the trustee said. “The way it would work is Lynn Swann would go to the interim president and he might need to talk to Rick … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Where Do The Board Of Trustees Stand?
Now You Know Why Andy Enfield Plays Patsies
USC lost to Texas Tech, 78-63, in Kansas City. The Trojans were outscored 55-31 in the second half. So USC lost to Vanderbilt, an SEC team, and Texas Tech, a Big 12 team. USC’s Defensive Confusion Needs Recognition
I like to speak to NFL coaches about USC games. Here is what one said to me who watched the USC-UCLA game. “Did you know on UCLA’s long touchdown run, the defense was misaligned? They didn’t have anyone on the tight end. Not a linebacker or a defensive back. The guys don’t know what to do. “The defensive line can’t off blocks, the linebackers are … Continue reading USC’s Defensive Confusion Needs Recognition
USC Morning Buzz: How Do You Like November?
Remember this September quote from Clay Helton: “I can’t wait for people see where we’re at in November.” USC is worse now than ever this season and a 10-point underdog to Notre Dame. I remember two years ago thinking USC had a small chance to beat Alabama. I feel like it has no chance to beat the Irish. Imagine how bad USC is against these … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: How Do You Like November?
