Money Always Talks
Did you know Max Nikias was still paid $1.27 million by USC in 2022? That was the most recent year USC’s tax returns are available. A vice president of communications made $900,000. The dean of the business school made $1.1 million. Andy Enfield made $3.74 million. Carol Folt made $3.37 million. USC pays handsomely. Even if you barely set foot on campus like Nikias. USC Notes: Shoring Up Special Teams
Former Kentucky guard DJ Wagner, who recently visited USC, will visit Arkansas this weekend. That immediately caused two recruiting analysts to predict Wagner would go to Arkansas, where he would be reunited with John Calipari. USC will be playing road games at Indiana, Iowa, Purdue and Wisconsin for the first time USC is taking Long Beach City College punter Rey Gomez as a preferred walk-on. … Continue reading USC Notes: Shoring Up Special Teams
USC Morning Buzz: Oregon’s Southern California Flavor
Oregon’s secondary now features four Southern California players: Dakoda Fields (Gardena Serra), Peyton Woodyard (St. John Bosco), Solomon Davis (Charter Oak) and Rodrick Pleasant (Gardena Serra). Woodyard committed last week after spending this semester at Alabama. Among this group, I’d say Fields and Woodyard are the two to watch. It shows that however Oregon recruits nationally, it is still focused hard on Southern California. And … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Oregon’s Southern California Flavor
The Show Must Go On
The USC women’s basketball celebration Sunday apparently didn’t draw much of a crowd. It got moved from the Town and Gown building on campus to a smaller, non-descript meeting room at the USC Hotel across the street. Oh, and now it’s been termed a “banquet.” Blame it on the protestors. If It’s Monday, There’s Still Campus News
Remember, USC used to routinely hold graduation at the Coliseum. This was in 1950 (a rare color photo from the time). The USC director of media relations who acted shamefully Sunday morning and tried to cover her identity badge when asked questions by student reporters has shut down her Linkedin account. USC has suspended at least 13 protestors. This is interesting because the students who … Continue reading If It’s Monday, There’s Still Campus News
Morning Buzz: Interesting Lineman Visits USC
In football news, Texas A&M center Bryce Foster visited USC this weekend. This is interesting because USC moved its best lineman, Jonah Monheim, to center for spring practice. Foster started 28 games at Texas A&M, so you can read what you want into this. For all the talk from Carol Folt about campus safety, the USC women’s tennis team played its NCAA playoff match on … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Interesting Lineman Visits USC
