USC Morning Buzz: Lincoln Riley Could Have Special Teams Coach If Desired
In this week’s session with a Pac-12 (head) coach, I asked him about Lincoln Riley’s assertion that he doesn’t believe in a full-time special teams coach. “I’ve never believed in one coach that’s doing something for two periods of practice a day, then whats he doing the rest of the time?” Riley said. “Let’s have guys that are coaching guys all the time, everywhere” This … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Lincoln Riley Could Have Special Teams Coach If Desired
Florida Gulf Coast Upsets Andy Enfield
Florida Gulf Coast came to L.A. and beat their former coach, Andy Enfield, 74-61, in the season-opener on Monday night before 2,355. USC’s new four-guard lineup had a rough night from the field as Drew Peterson, Boogie Ellis, Kobe Johnson and Reese Dixon-Waters were a combined 10 for 30 from the field. Morning Buzz: USC-Cal Report Card
QUARTERBACK What would USC’s record be without Caleb Williams? He’s basically become the eraser who rubs out all of the Trojans’ shortcomings. USC’s implosion on defense would have been a lot more stressful if you didn’t know Williams would save the day. Grade: A- RUNNING BACK USC’s game plan was to pass, pass, pass. Makes sense if you’re overmatched. But USC was playing Cal. Travis … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC-Cal Report Card
It’s Foolish To Compare Last Season To This Season
With the defense imploding last night, I heard this argument from some fans and ESPN announcer Dave Pasch: USC is 8-1 and made a dramatic improvement from last year when it won only 4 games, so there is a lot to celebrate. My reaction: What did you expect? Let’s review a few things regarding USC. Last year’s team gave up while being coached by two … Continue reading It’s Foolish To Compare Last Season To This Season
