USC lost to Arizona, 75-61, in the Pac-12 championship game. USC was outrebounded 42-19. Arizona’s Deandre Ayton had 32 points and 18 rebounds for the Wildcats. Doug MacKenzie was a fullback who played at USC from 1979-81. That means he was a fullback who blocked for two Heisman Trophy winners (Charles White, Marcus Allen). In the above picture, he is blocking for Allen in the 1980 USC-Arizona State game. MacKenzie died on Feb. 24. He had suffered a stroke in 2016. He was 59.
