New USC baseball coach Jason Gill has hired former Nebraska assistant Ted Silva as an assistant coach.
They were teammates at Cal State Fullerton and spent 2011 together at Loyola Marymount. USC fans might remember Silva as the winning pitcher for Cal State Fullerton in its 11-5 victory over USC in the 1995 College World Series championship game.
Gill is also expected to retain USC assistant coach Gabe Alvarez from the previous coaching staff.
- USC was handing out a lot of scholarship offers today. Among those offered: Offensive lineman Mason Murphy of JSerra; defensive tackle Kobe Pepe of St. John Bosco; defensive end-linebacker Devin Aupiu of Oxnard Pacifica; linebacker Keith Brown of Lebanon, Ore.; offensive lineman Rolan Fullwood of Lawndale; tight end Lake McCree of Austin, Texas, and quarterback Miller Moss of Alemany.

Good recruiting practice, offer players that have been scouted and have performed in person like these players have at the RSC.
