Important Announcement About USC Blog

When I started this blog 29 months ago, it was going to be more of a hobby after covering USC for more than 20 years.

I never imagined it would grow to its current size and attract such a loyal audience.

Well, now it’s time to grow even more. Today, I’m taking the InsideUSC blog to Sports Illustrated. The new address is https://www.si.com/college/usc/

The new USC blog will be the same in many ways but will have much more video, more recruiting and a stronger “community” area for comments. I hope you will join me at the new site for even more USC coverage.

You had to know this was gonna happen — Hillary’s planned financial involvement in Libyan oil will remain provable only circumstantially [i. e., Blumenthal’s meetings with Libyan oilmen prior to NATO “needing” to launch an attack on a “dangerous dictator” — who had voluntarily de-fanged himself in exchange for our promise not to overthrow his government]…..

  1. Classic letter from alum from WW Board

Some entertainment for old school SC grads
    8/14/2020 3:23:54 PM
    By: uscsteve500

I have lurked on this board since the (ugh) Paul Hackett days. I have never posted, but have always found it highly entertaining for football and other things. I’m an SC grad (duh) that attended at the same time as Java (pretty much).
In any event, some poor soul from SC tasked with reaching out to alumni made the “mistake” of trying to connect with me. For old school alums, enjoy my response. For malapart and other SC apologists “suck it”……….
I see from your signature line that you’re roughly 25 years younger than I. And I get that you work for the university and probably have a “reach out quota” that needs to be satisfied. Here’s a reality check.

I’ve had a successful career and am easily in the 7-figures plus net worth category. I attended SC and graduated from an ENTIRELY different university than exists today. As it stands right now, SC has ZERO chance of seeing any donations from me/my family.

I will not support a university that is entirely captured by the “woke” culture of today’s left. I will not support a university with a corrupt admissions process. I will not support a university that prioritizes the dollars associated with international admissions over providing opportunities for American students. I will not support a university that protects sexual predators in the medical faculty. I will not support a university that caves to the kangaroo court Title IX “mandates” dictated by the Federal government.

As an aside, the fact that SC has decided to deemphasize athletic excellence – especially football – is also absolutely unacceptable. I chose to attend SC precisely BECAUSE it valued conservative ideals and strove to compete at the highest levels in sports (across the board). This university is gone. In fact, what exists today is an abomination. I don’t care “where it ranks”. I care about institutions that actually support American ideals and value their heritage.

So, if you think there’s some value in corresponding, please reply. But understand this, I’m an entirely “hostile witness”……….

  2. LAST TRIP TO KROGER’

Yesterday I was at my local Kroger’s buying a large bag of Purina Dog Chow for my loyal pet, Jake, the Wonder Dog, and was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog

What did she think…I had an elephant?

So because I’m retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn’t have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again.

I added that I probably shouldn’t, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I’d lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is, to load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry.

The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me.

I told her no, I stopped to pee on a fire hydrant and a car hit me

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.
Kroger’s won’t let me shop there anymore.

Better watch what you ask retired people.

They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say.

Austin City Council Defunds Police, 911 Services While Upping Taxpayer Funds For Abortion
AUGUST 13, 2020 By Elle Reynolds

Austin’s all-Democrat city council voted Thursday to slash police funding by $150 million, more than a third of the department’s $434 million budget, while redirecting $100,000 of that amount to abortion access.

  10. A bit more video if you are missing Trojan football, here is Chauncey Washington, very fast and powerful runner. I recall in his frosh year, when Reggie and Lendale were also frosh, that during fall practice it was reported that Chauncey ran down Reggie from behind on a play. No one made a big deal of it then because it was before Reggie became Reggie, but it shows that Chauncey could fly. Very underrated RB IMHO:

  11. Will Trojan Fans have to stay outside Chicago for the next Notre Dame weekend?

WHEN AUTHORITY VANISHES: Chicago’s leaders have surrendered to vandals.

The sacking of Chicago’s North Side was more than a tactical failure. For months, key officials—the state’s attorney responsible for prosecution, the mayor, and the governor—have failed to condemn criminals sufficiently or act with necessary force against such violence. They have contributed to a culture of impunity that tolerates mobs and hoodlums.

Kim Foxx, the state’s attorney for Cook County, has already become nationally notorious for refusing to prosecute Jussie Smollett, the actor who lied to the police that he was a victim of racial violence. But her offenses against public order are far worse than her condoning of a provocateur who tried to fracture the city with a falsehood. Foxx has dismissed felony cases brought by the police at a rate 35 percent higher than her predecessor. She raised the threshold for felony shoplifting from $300 to $1,000—and as a result, thieves steal brazenly in broad daylight as well as under cover of darkness. Chicago police chief David Brown suggested that Foxx’s failure to prosecute looters from the previous sacking of the city in June was partly responsible for emboldening the current round of looting.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot is also responsible. She has hardly been enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against lawless mobs. When crowds assaulted statues of Christopher Columbus, she did not defend these public monuments, instead removing them under pressure in the dead of night. The message was clear: Chicago would not defend its civic order. Lightfoot did denounce the current round of looting, but she still felt the need to make distinctions between these looters and those who had rioted in the wake of the George Floyd killing, as if there were degrees of culpability in the intentional taking of others’ property. Contrast her uncertain tones in calling vandals to account with her schoolmarmish insistence on closing parks to protect against the coronavirus, when epidemiologists agree that the greatest risk comes from indoor activity.

Somebody has noticed Foxx’s role at least: (Photo) Sign on Chicago’s Mag Mile Luxury Retailer Michael Kors: ‘Kim Foxx Enabled This Chaos Vote Her Out in November.’

      1. Michael, I wonder if many people living in LA, SF, etc. (many whom are immigrants) are simply unaware of much of the nuttiness. They are so busy working to pay bills and take care of their kids that they have only a vague idea of what is going on…that their city councils and district supervisors get elected by saying “Trump is Satan, he is anti-immigrant”, and that is enough for those who are actually the enemies of the voters to get elected?
