Important Announcement About USC Blog

When I started this blog 29 months ago, it was going to be more of a hobby after covering USC for more than 20 years.

I never imagined it would grow to its current size and attract such a loyal audience.

Well, now it’s time to grow even more. Today, I’m taking the InsideUSC blog to Sports Illustrated. The new address is https://www.si.com/college/usc/

The new USC blog will be the same in many ways but will have much more video, more recruiting and a stronger “community” area for comments. I hope you will join me at the new site for even more USC coverage.

      3. My wife saw what was starting to happen in Berkeley before I did, gt. It was a pain loading up everything and moving here —but I’m glad we did. This is a hopelessly blue state —but the people love their communities, don’t hate each other —and families thrive. Up til the covid “crisis”, I loved watching how great the school teams are here –and how well attended the games are. Really a healthy atmosphere.

        My guess is that the folks in Portland (“Keep Portland weird.” Right?) love their communities also. (I would never choose Portland–lousy sports and lousy climate. Great skiing and great beer from Deschutes Brewery, however).

        I have to guess that the rioting and property destruction going on across Urban America (here is Denver also) is being done mostly by people who don’t live in the communities that they are trashing and who have no “investment” in the communities.

        I put investment in italics, as you and I know that investment is not limited to home ownership or business ownership. Renters–esp longer term renters–and employees are often invested in their communities. They support the business establishments and indirectly (through rent and other taxes) support schools. They pick up trash in the park. They might attend They vote for their favored politician who hopefully supports the agenda of the communities, etc. They pick up a banner, don their mask, and peacefully protest. Even if I disagree with their stance, I embrace them as an important part of my community.

        Thugs? Don’t need ’em.

      5. Wish that was so, but the “Mainstream Moderate”Democrats support violent Marxism now. In Portlandia and in scores of Democrat controlled cities across the nation, Democrat Mayors, prosecutors and police chiefs are engaged in catch and release because they support the Black Lives Matter Marxist agenda. The adults in the room are indulging the spoiled children instead of giving them a swat on the rear end. It won’t turn out well.
