Important Announcement About USC Blog

When I started this blog 29 months ago, it was going to be more of a hobby after covering USC for more than 20 years.

I never imagined it would grow to its current size and attract such a loyal audience.

Well, now it’s time to grow even more. Today, I’m taking the InsideUSC blog to Sports Illustrated. The new address is https://www.si.com/college/usc/

The new USC blog will be the same in many ways but will have much more video, more recruiting and a stronger “community” area for comments. I hope you will join me at the new site for even more USC coverage.

    SEATTLE CLOSES PARK TO PREVENT OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE: This notice sounds innocuous enough, just a legitimate public health measure. The reality is officials closed the park because it was the planned site for a worship time organized by a group of local churches, assisted by Sean Feucht. Feucht’s ministry organization has organized 19 services in 19 cities during July and August.

    “This is the height of hypocrisy for the City of Seattle to turn a blind eye to riots, looting, and AntiFa, while refusing to let Christians gather in a public park to sing and worship,” Feucht said in a statement in response to the closure notice. “First the government shuts down churches. Now it’s shutting down parks to stop us from worshipping. Time to stand up church!”

    1. Only room for one religion in a Marxist/Socialist society…and it ain’t Islam, Judaism, Taoism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Devil worship, shamanism, or Christianity.*
      Covid has been a convenient excuse for most “left-leaning” places to ban public worship. Kill religion, and socialism becomes the only entity a feeble society may pray to. Works in China and worked pretty nicely in the USSR.

      Here in Denver we’ve had responsible social distance church attendance, and my wife and I are enjoying it. My friends in California lament that they cannot attend church services. They can attend a non-social distance protest however.

      *Sincere apologies to any faith which I left off this short list.

      3. I chose not to chide Sang19 over at SI, Michael.
        (though I will on this site, tee hee).

        My momma taught me at an early age not to made fun of the feeble, so I’ve left Sang19 alone over at the lil brother site. On a different thread, Sang19 was extolling the virtues of the UW Huskies in the NFL, so I surmise that Sang19 has leanings for that fine school and sports program.

        Still, hard for me to fully respect a state-funded University which can only make it up to #62 nationally on the USNWR annual rankings of higher education. With all the Amazon/Costco/Microsoft wealth created in that fine State, UW should be doing far better.

        My concern? That under President Folt’s ham-fisted leadership our fine school slips in rankings and prestige.

  26. BLACK LIVES MATTER RIOTERS RANSACK ROCHESTER, NY:

    Rochester, NY is the latest hub of antia/ BLM rioting as obnoxious swarms of antifa and BLM activists disturbed the peace, climbed on people’s homes, vandalized businesses, assaulted people, including police officers, committed arson, and generally engaged in free-form lawlessness.

    Back in March, a black man, Daniel Prude, was reportedly on PCP and running around naked in the streets, and as police attempted to control him with a “spit mask” and hold, he stopped breathing. He was revived but died seven days later after be taken off of life support.

    The rioting hordes learned of the tragic incident on Wednesday when the video was released, and although Rochester mayor Lovely Warren (D) announced the suspension of the officers involved, the mobs took to the streets to assault, harass, annoy, and frighten innocent people, apparently intending to win them over.

    1. Law suits against shutdowns filed in California or New York courts aren’t going anywhere. Even if there is zero scientific evidence to back up executive orders which violate fundamental constitutional rights, the courts will find the orders permissible exercises of power to protect the health & well being of the public….. which, of course, is bullshit. But that’s the way it is. That’s the world we live in now.

      [I don’t know if you realize it or not, gt, but September 4th was the last day under Justice Department guidelines for Durham to file cases against Clapper and Comey —so that the filings would not come within 60 days of the election. Did he come through? Of course not. He’s scared out of his wits. He didn’t even issue a fucking report. He took the case…and sat on it. Jeff Sessions couldn’t have done less than Durham. And no one is complaining. It’s exactly what we all expect from the Justice Department: Nothing].
