Important Announcement About USC Blog

When I started this blog 29 months ago, it was going to be more of a hobby after covering USC for more than 20 years.

I never imagined it would grow to its current size and attract such a loyal audience.

Well, now it’s time to grow even more. Today, I’m taking the InsideUSC blog to Sports Illustrated. The new address is https://www.si.com/college/usc/

The new USC blog will be the same in many ways but will have much more video, more recruiting and a stronger “community” area for comments. I hope you will join me at the new site for even more USC coverage.

    On the plus side
    – UCLA starts season typically very slow
    – Ending season at Coliseum vs Huskies is very good.
    – Happy to see Oregon vs Utah to finish season
    -USC and Oregon likely 6 and 0 going into their game

    On the negative side
    -Opening against UCLA could be a trap game
    – ASU at home could be tough and another trap game as we look ahead to Utah
    -AZ having bye week before playing us could be a problem depending on how we fare injury wise after 1st 4 games

      This schedule is 100% Trojan friendly. No cold weather games. No brutally hot weather games (ie, Tucson in October is tolerable). Oregon–if it rains–could be a challenge.

      Sadly, with a HC CHelton lead team “every game is a trap game.”
      The strategy–at least as evinced on this site–is that the Harrell must be left to run the O with no input from HC CH and Orlando must be left to run the D with no input from HC CH. HC CH is only allowed to throw the red “challenge” flag and give pregame speech.

      It could work.

      By that time over 200,000 Americans will have died of Covid 19–about the same amount as ordinarily by poisoning, suicide, auto accident, homicide, influenza, accident, etc in a given year. I recall being told in the runup to the Affordable Care Act that 100,000 Americans died annually of a hospital caused mistake.

      Life should go on for the young people who are trying to make a better life for themselves.

    I see an easy 6-0 then Helton underperforms. 2-2 afterwards. I would love 10-0 even if it meant keeping the most inept major program coach in CFB, but history shows he can’t do it, assuming we play 10 games.

Normally I tend to be a pessimist but the Pac 12 has never been weaker, the traditional powers in the conference are all rebuilding and with ND and Bama off the scedule 10-0 is very much a possibility given our overwhelming depth returning at all positions and our top flight assistant coaches.

Remember how Scott use to have a column once a week where we could submit questions to him and then he would respond over the next few days to the serious questions and ignore senileobama and Gargamel?
