Important Announcement About USC Blog

When I started this blog 29 months ago, it was going to be more of a hobby after covering USC for more than 20 years.

I never imagined it would grow to its current size and attract such a loyal audience.

Well, now it’s time to grow even more. Today, I’m taking the InsideUSC blog to Sports Illustrated. The new address is https://www.si.com/college/usc/

The new USC blog will be the same in many ways but will have much more video, more recruiting and a stronger “community” area for comments. I hope you will join me at the new site for even more USC coverage.

Pac-12 players make demands. Some of very reasonable regarding protection from Covid-19, and providing health insurance for 6 years after their college playing careers end to provide support for medical issues that may arise years after they stop playing.

I love the part in which they want Larry Scott to take a pay cut!

Ultimately, I think something like this would have happened anyway given that the NCAA, who claims to represent student-athletes, screws them every chance they get, from preventing some compensation that could be received after graduation, to a bunch of silly rules about eligibility after transferring that are only changing recently.

  11. More bad news for senileobama!

US Manufacturing Soars to 15-Month High: ISM
BY TOM OZIMEK August 3, 2020 Updated: August 3, 2020 Print

Email this article to your friends
Manufacturing in the United States, as measured by a key business activity gauge, surged to a 15-month high in July, exceeding economists’ expectations.

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) business survey, published Aug. 3, shows that its topline manufacturing activity indicator, called the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), surged to a reading of 54.2 in July.

Readings above 50 indicate expansion, while those below mean contraction.

“The PMI signaled a continued rebuilding of economic activity in July and reached its highest level of expansion since March 2019,” Timothy Fiore, chair of the ISM Manufacturing Business Survey Committee, said in a statement (pdf).

    1. Like so much else at Justice, they’re not exactly breaking speed records on wrapping up these cases —Durham is another case study in the “I need 300 more exhibits before I feel really comfortable” school of prosecution…..

  14. From James Bond to Cliff Claven

The Steele report has gone through many phases over time since it’s debut in 2015.

    First it was:

    – A super-secret report written by a real British spy and being investigated by the CIA!!!!!

    – Even better, it uses Real Russian Agent reports, from Russia!

    James Bond stuff!!

    – Well, it was paid for by the Clinton campaign, not M5.

    But that doesn’t matter, right?

    – Hmmm… All the allegations don’t seem to be backed up by any facts.

    – And all the names and places don’t match with actual visits and times either.

    – Gee, there’s got to be something valid in here, because the FBI, Department of Justice, Obama Administration and Special Counsel Bob Mueller are all using it.

    Right?????

    – Oh, they know its full of (censored) too.

    They don’t care.

We’ve gone from James Bond to Agent 86 Maxwell Smart:

    Missed it by that much!.

    – Oh, the critical Russian source happens to be a Brookings Institute guy, who lives in the US?

    – And mostly made up the stories by slovenly drunks while hanging out at a bar?

OK , now we’ve gone from James Bond to Cheers Cliff Claven.
