Important Announcement About USC Blog

When I started this blog 29 months ago, it was going to be more of a hobby after covering USC for more than 20 years.

I never imagined it would grow to its current size and attract such a loyal audience.

Well, now it’s time to grow even more. Today, I’m taking the InsideUSC blog to Sports Illustrated. The new address is https://www.si.com/college/usc/

The new USC blog will be the same in many ways but will have much more video, more recruiting and a stronger “community” area for comments. I hope you will join me at the new site for even more USC coverage.

  8. I did a little digging, and Markese Stepp had an injury somewhat similar to Tua’s a couple of years ago. Both had the “tightrope procedure” which seems to stabilize the ankle while the torn ligaments are healing, thus allowing sooner return to competition. But Stepp is now a year out from his surgery, supposedly was to be back within 5 weeks. He is still struggling. Sending the big fella all best thoughts, would love to see him out there. I worry, as it is now a full year. Hope he is getting a second opinion other than the USC docs. Here is the story about Tua and how he was able to recover so quickly:

  12. ROGER SIMON: Fire Wray If He Doesn’t Turn Over Biden Laptop Info Immediately.

    If Christopher Wray does not turn over all information about the laptop alleged to belong to Hunter Biden requested by Senate Homeland Security chair Ron Johnson within twenty-four hours, Wray should be summarily fired by the president and be replaced by an Acting FBI Director who will do the job like Richard Grenell.

    That Wray and company have been sitting on this evidence since 2019 is beyond unconscionable.

    That they were doing it during an impeachment trial relevant to the details that are on that laptop’s hard drive borders on the criminal, indeed crosses that border morally, if not legally.

    The FBI has been living under a cloud for years now because of the demonstrably politically tainted Mueller investigation into Trump-Russia collusion that never existed as well as the related attempt to frame General Michael Flynn. (The 302s that made this clear had to be forced out of the FBI with a metaphorical bunker buster.)

    Literally millions of Americans are now regarding—with justification— our premier law enforcement agency as corrupt and politically biased, possibly personally dangerous to them.

    This is an untenable situation for a democratic republic going forward—if it wishes to remain either democratic or a republic.

    Wray has done nothing to alleviate this. To the contrary, he has continually stonewalled congressional requests as if he were a Soviet apparatchik, not the servant of the American people that he supposedly is.

    He seems to want us to believe he is working to preserve his institution, but is actually the doing the reverse—making us all the more suspicious.

    Hunkered down and undoubtedly praying for the election of Joe Biden to save his own career, Wray has acted out of extreme selfishness or ideological bias or both.

    The Biden Laptop Affair should be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back.

    Only it’s not a straw, far from it. Contained in this email exchange and on the hard drive from whence it comes are potential links to corruption the likes of which we have not seen in our country, a degree of cooperation with Communist China that could lead, if unchecked, to massive changes in our lives.

    National home builders sentiment at an ALL-TIME high today with a score of 85 (out of 100, I guess). Anything above 50 is a positive. Combine this factor with ridiculously low Federal funds rates and home mortgage rates, and we could have a perfect storm of home supply and first-time home ownership–especially among the beaten up Millennials and Gen-X er’s. Put “heads in beds,” people.

    Sadly, uber-liberal (and sometimes conservative) NIMBY towns put up such ridiculous zoning and building requirements that these thoughtful builders cannot help the lower-middle and middle class achieve home ownership. Indeed, gotroy 22, a recent meta-analysis of race and accumulated wealth showed a huge disconnect between blacks and other races in regards to home ownership–a primary reason for the wealth disparity between races.*. So, I might have to ask these uber-lib NIMBY’s if they are “soft” racists?

    *Another key factor between races and wealth accumulation disparity was “inheritance.”

    1. BTW, I live in a racially and economically diverse building of 100 families in the most multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-generational part of town.

      Lots of building going on in Denver. But sadly a lot of homelessness also.

        I left USC and CA in 1988 and moved here.
        I had to jettison much of the dysfunctional bad habits I learned in So Cal
        (i.e., washing your car every Friday night. Huge lawns of grass. Driving everywhere. etc)
        in order to get along with the Native Coloradoans.

        Regrettably, most of the CA imports come here too late in their development to shed the bad habits they learned in CA.

        Still, both CA and CO are amongst the best places on Earth to live. After a week in Monterey CA and a week in Yosemite? I still love CA.
