This is a coincidence I never expected this weekend.
I saw an episode of Star Trek and a member of the crew was a guy I recognized from several Twilight Zone episodes but didn’t know his name. I didn’t think it would go farther than that.
But today I was looking at some old USC photos and I see the same face. So I do some research.
Here is actor Paul Comi performing in plays at USC in 1965.
It turns out Comi graduated from USC in 1958, became a successful actor and actually went back to USC to get his master’s of arts in 1965. That must of excited the students in the drama school.
He was also a three-time Purple Heart veteran who served in Korea.
Comi appeared in three episodes of The Twilight Zone, including the classics “The Odyssey of Flight 33” and “People Are Alike All Over.”
- USC used to draw big stars like it was no big deal. Here is Judy Garland (far left) in Demember, 1965, at the DKA awards, which was a cinema school event. Gregory Peck and Lucille Ball also attended that night.
