- If you are looking for something to do this weekend, the Pac-12 track and field championships are being held at Mt. SAC in Walnut. The field events start today at 12:30 p.m. Running events start at 4 p.m.
Sunday is the big day of finals with the running events starting at 1 p.m. and field at 11 a.m. The 4 x 100 relays are at 1 p.m. so don’t be late.
It’s not common for the Pac-12 championships to be in Southern California. Usually, the schools rotate who hosts but Oregon State had to back out because its new facilities are not ready, creating an opportunity for Mt. SAC. Who knows when the Big Ten will have the track championships in Southern California?
After the first day of the heptathlon, USC’s Allie Jones is in second place with 3,740 points and trails leader Ida Eikeng of Washington by 38 points.
- USC had a big 4-1 victory over Arizona State on Friday night at Dedeaux Field. The Sun Devils are in second place in the Pac-12 so every game against them this weekend is important for USC’s NCAA Tournament hopes.
Trojans ace Blake Sodersten allowed just one run and three hits in seven innings. Of course, this vital series drew only 598 fans to Game 1. Hopefully, it will get more fans today.

You forget one thing! NO ONE could have foreseen California’s looming financial disaster —- offering educational, medical and housing services to illegals and driving hundreds of businesses into Texas & Florida seemed such a smart way to strengthen the state’s economy [that must be why a vast majority of Californians brought Gavin back from the brink of recall].
