Oregon State is in second place in the Pac-12? Andy Enfield is really fortunate to coach basketball at USC, where no one pays attention to these things. Besides, he needs to underachieve with next year’s big recruiting class. Is USC’s talent level really equal to a 7-6 record in the worst Pac-12 season ever? Enfield makes millions at a university that doesn’t really care about … Continue reading The Luckiest Man Alive
LSU has the nation’s No. 1-ranked recruiting class for 2020 according to Rivals with two commitments from Southern California. They are ranked No. 2 by 247. USC is ranked No. 33 and No. 31, respectively. This is where you can get some curmudgeon to pipe in and talk about how recruiting rankings in February don’t matter or how they should be ignored generally. Cornerback Elias Ricks and defensive tackle Jordan Berry committed to LSU. Safety Darion Green-Warren committed to Oklahoma. Calabasas five-star wide receiver Johnny Wilson and four-star wide receiver Jermaine Burton do not have USC in their top schools lists. The hole USC is … Continue reading The Price Of Doing Nothing
Narbonne defensive tackle Jordan Berry has committed to LSU, the second Southern California player from the Class of 2020 to commit to the Tigers in recent weeks. Berry was offered by USC. He is currently a three-star recruit but I’m guessing Ed Orgeron knows how to evaluate defensive linemen. Orgeron previously got a commitment from Mater Dei cornerback Elias Ricks, the top-ranked corner in the … Continue reading LSU Steals Another Southern California Recruit
I spoke to former USC safety Charles Phillips on Friday about a fascinating topic . . . to me. Phillips always played in high school and at USC with a tooth pick in his mouth. “It started in high school,” Phillips said. “It was just a habit. It was something I did. I never suffered the consequences of doing it, fortunately.” It did not prevent … Continue reading A USC Tradition Involving A Tooth Pick
