So how did the transfers shape USC? 11 of USC’s 22 starters vs. Rice made their first start as Trojans. Eight of the new starters were transfers. The transfers who started: Mekhi Blackmon, Romello Height, Shane Lee, Caleb Williams, Travis Dye, Brenden Rice, Jordan Addison and Mario Williams. One word about special teams. USC needed to punt just once vs. Rice. Aadyn Sleep-Dalton’s first career … Continue reading USC Monday Buzz: Transfers Make Impact
USC is flying high after its 66-14 victory over Rice. I’m wondering how thrilled some players are who didn’t do much Saturday. For example: Wide receiver Terrell Bynum, who transferred from Washington, did not catch a pass. Wide receiver Gary Bryant, who started seven games last season, caught 1 pass for 7 yards. Wide receiver Brenden Rice, the transfer from Colorado, had 1 catch for … Continue reading It’s Hard To Get Everyone In USC Games
Wasn’t it amazing how USC had almost exactly 60,000 at the game? If you don’t believe the numbers get made up, having a crowd count of 60,113 confirms it. The Coliseum holds 77,500. There were really about 40,000-45,000 at the game. It’s a blistering hot day. There’s no shame in 45,000 attending. But don’t try to inflate it. And now for a cringeworthy post-game moment. … Continue reading Strange Things Going On Off-Field At Coliseum

That’s what we wanted to do,” wide receiver Jordan Addison said. “Week 1 we had to show everybody that this wasn’t just no hype. We ready to play.” Well, yes and no. Let’s keep it real. You can read breathless recaps elsewhere. I guarantee you the USC … Continue reading Sunday Buzz: Is USC Back?

He was pretty flawless and his physical strength when running is impressive. With Williams, USC’s offense can go as far as he takes it. Now, for the defense. The … Continue reading Discuss The USC-Rice Game
Welcome to the USC-Rice game blog! The fake attendance today was 60,113. Why is Jordan Addison returning punts with a 38-point lead? Caleb Williams is living up to the hype and getting his Heisman campaign off to a great start. But no matter how many interceptions there are, the defense still has some issues to deal with. Here comes the fourth interception. Rice’s receivers are … Continue reading USC-Rice Live Blog!
