Maybe before Graham Harrell officially sets up in Kliff Kingsbury’s old office, there are some things he should know: Does he know three of four team captains asked Clay Helton to start Jack Sears over JT Daniels? And Helton said, “my hands are tied.” Does he know Tee Martin tried to discipline a starting wide receiver during the 2017 USC-UCLA game by taking him out … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Memo To Graham Harrell

If you have a son that plays safety or cornerback, please call USC. Clay Helton offered safety Dorian Hewett of Houston last week. Tonight, Helton is making a home visit. Hewett’s other offers are from Syracuse, Baylor, Washington, Utah and Texas A&M-Commerce. Do you think Nick Saban or Dabo Swinney do this kind of evaluation before they go after a recruit?   Continue reading USC Recruit Of The Night

Here’s another Clay Helton quote from yesterday. “My job on game days will be managing game situations,” Helton said. Personally, I want Helton doing as little managing as possible on game day. USC’s odds to win the national title are 50-1 according to Caesar’s Palace. That seems high to me especially with Clay Helton and JT Daniels leading the way. Here’s the rest of the Pac-12: Oregon 40/1 Washington, USC 50/1 Utah 75/1 Washington State, UCLA 100/1 Stanford, Arizona, Cal 200/1 Arizona State 300/1 Colorado 1000/1 Oregon State 5000/1   AND here are the favorites, otherwise known as … Continue reading USC’s National Title Odds

I don’t know what is worse about this graphic USC posted on Instagram. The quote, which has the nerve to reference the “discipline of the game,” for the most undisciplined program in the nation. Or the picture of Clay Helton, where even he looks at the quote with skepticism. Amazing. Meanwhile, USC gave new offensive coordinator Graham Harrell a two-year contract worth $1 million … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Focus On Discipline

Clay Helton did a friendly interview with USC and addressed some relevant topics. Not in any meaningful way, of course. On all of USC’s transfers: “We have a couple players who are graduating this semester, some in just three years’ time, and they wanted the opportunity to have a larger role on another team, so they will be graduate transfers. All are terrific men, good … Continue reading Clay Helton Speaks!
