Just when it looked dire for Germany, a goal by Toni Kross while a man down to Sweden. The Swedes have to be furious about not getting a penalty call in the first half. With Mexico beating South Korea, 2-1, it sets up a nice final day for Group F, where three teams (Mexico, Germany, Sweden) could potentially finish with six points. Meanwhile, Belgium is … Continue reading Saturday World Cup Talk
USC’s had an infatuation with recruiting wide receivers in recent years, sometimes at the expense of other positions. Right now, USC’s offered 21 wide receivers from the Class of 2019 and 12 from the Class of 2020. That’s a lot of wide receivers, obviously. Offers are harmless, especially with today’s trend of schools making offers but telling recruits they cannot commit. The USC Elite Camp is today (don’t ask me what difference all these camp names mean). USC offered a scholarship to receiver Koy Moore of Louisiana, a Class of 2020 prospect. Another standout today is wide receiver Gary Bryant of Corona Centennial, also from the Class of 2020. Four-star cornerback Erick Young of Texas (2019) is also at the camp. UPDATED: USC offered Bryant after … Continue reading USC Lunch Notes
Quarterback JT Daniels participated in his second player-run practice Tuesday evening. He looks good but he is supposed to look good. Let’s wait for workouts in full pads and full pash rush. The workout was watched (of course) by his father, Steve, who initially observed from Cromwell Field where some media were stationed until security told him to watch from Dedeaux Field. Someone did not … Continue reading The Golden Child Works Out Again
