Johnny Thompson, a Class of 2023 tailback from Oaks Christian, decommitted from USC tonight. Thompson committed to USC last fall and it raises some questions about Donte Williams’ recruiting that I will address tomorrow morning. Thompson has been recruited heavily by Oregon recently. Here is his statement, which mentions Williams. Continue reading Tailback Decommits From USC
The deadline for Caleb Williams is tomorrow if he wants to participate in spring practice. But it’s also the deadline for any offensive/defensive linemen and linebackers. Sources in the McKay Center tell me USC coaches plan on taking more transfers in the spring so it’s not a make-or-break thing to participate in spring drills. This was making the rounds today as proof USC is getting Caleb Williams. I wouldn’t put much stock in this. It’s not a unique name and it could be some random freshman. The same USC fans who are complaining that Caleb Williams is taking too long to make a decision are the same ones who will be cheering loudest in the fall if he does play for the Trojans. The only one who should be complaining is Jaxson Dart because he wouldn’t mind returning to USC but has to wait on Williams. Meanwhile, USC might have the … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Does Size Matter?
USC quickly offered offensive guard Chris Akporoghene of Tennessee, once he entered the transfer portal. But he hasn’t played a lot recently. Akporoghene played in one game last season for the Vols. He played in four games in 2020 but just eight offensive snaps. That’s not a lot of film to evaluate. But USC needs linemen. Wisconsin is making a strong push for Caleb Williams, … Continue reading USC Notes: New Lineman Offered And Another Caleb Williams Pursuer
