Welcome to 2020! It looks similar to 2019, however. At the risk of being repetitive, how does USC change when it has no leadership at the very top of its football program. The offseason is where excuses get made: It was the defensive coordinator and special teams coach. It’s the small recruiting staff (which produced the nation’s No. 3-ranked class in 2018). It’s the fan … Continue reading Happy New Year!
Utah getting routed by Texas doesn’t make USC look good. The Trojans beat the Utes and still lost the Pac-12 South. Oh, and Utah’s won consecutive Pac-12 South titles. Everything always comes back to Clay Helton’s incompetence. If you want a sign of how USC recruiting is going, how many USC recruiting reporters went to the All-American bowl. But maybe worse is five-star tight end Darnell Washington of Las Vegas, who is one of the top … Continue reading USC’s Botched Tight End Recruitment
Oregon coach Mario Cristobal made this comment today at the Rose Bowl press conference: “We’ve always made Southern California a priority for us. For us, this is our home state. That’s what it is. We’ve made it a priority.” Oregon got Kayvon Thibodeaux last year, the state’s No. 1 player. USC put out a whisper campaign that it did not want him. Two weeks ago, … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Oregon Makes California “Home State”
USC tweeted out that Amon-Ra St. Brown passed 1,000 yards receiving in the Holiday Bowl. And that St. Brown and Michael Pittman are the first duo to surpass 1,000 yards in the same season since season since Robert Woods and Marqise Lee in 2011. USC previously mentioned Kedon Slovis had the highest completion percentage for a freshman in NCAA history. Slovis also set USC’s single-season … Continue reading When You Don’t Win, Plug Stats
