Season Ticket Renewals A Concern

The season-ticket renewal deadline was extended to Wednesday. I asked a highly placed USC source how season tickets sales were going and they said the renewal rate was “shockingly low.” “There’s been a huge dropoff, people aren’t renewing,” the source said. I’ve heard from a lot people who say they are dropping their tickets but sometimes what you hear and what is actually happening are … Continue reading Season Ticket Renewals A Concern

USC Morning Buzz: Keep An Eye On Luke Fickell

One theory I hear gaining steam is that with Clay Helton a mere figurehead this season, the table is set for USC to hire Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell for 2021. The basis is that Fickell was hired by Mike Bohn and they already worked together. Maybe Fickell would also accept keeping some of the recent coaching hires easier than other candidates. An Accurate Galen Center Attendance

This is an interesting development: USC’s official attendance for Saturday’s basketball game was 7,622. This seems . . . accurate. Some of these empty seats could have been reserved for … Continue reading An Accurate Galen Center Attendance

Some Strategic Music/Noise At Galen Center Prevents Negative Reaction

There is something to be said for the loud music at the Galen Center. When Clay Helton got introduced yesterday, you could start to hear some boos but the music kicked in at such a high volume you could not hear much after that. Maybe it was intentional. But it didn’t matter because it worked. USC fans are generally unaffected by everything. After the game, … Continue reading Some Strategic Music/Noise At Galen Center Prevents Negative Reaction

USC Sunday Buzz: Remembering Another Big Shot To Beat UCLA

With Jonah Mathews’ heroics yesterday, here is announcer Mike Walden’s call of the final moments of the USC-UCLA game on March 8, 1969. USC won, 46-44, on on a jump shot by Ernie Powell with six seconds left to hand UCLA its first-ever loss at Pauley Pavilion after a 51-0 start in the new arena. Some say Walden jumped up on the announcer’s table when he yelled … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Remembering Another Big Shot To Beat UCLA
